Maybe Blown Up?
Well I was gettin into the car real good and then all of a sudden the car just lost power...I pulled over and the car was smokin, so i poped the hood and needless to say the dip stick had poped out and oil was everywhere...I took the oil cap off and smoke was comming out but then again it was about 50 degress outside and i just got done racing...The car starts but the CEL comes on and it runs like crap? Any suggestions... I checked the the coolent and it was fine no bubbles....so who knows

A guy on a local forum had the same situation happen to him. Cylinder #4 leaned out, caused excessive crankcase pressure and blew the dipstick out with all the oil.
Did the engine shut down on it's own? If so it's most likely seized. Get it up on a lift or jack stands and try to turn the engine over by hand. GL with your findings...hopefully it's nothing major.

well it runs but when i had to drive it home everytime i pushed the clutch in the car would die...i done a compression test on it a couple of days ago before this happened and it was #1 was 200 #2 was 185 #3 was 180 and # 4 was 200

yes true, you have low compression in cylinder #1
do the test again..except this time put a little bit of oil in cylinder #1...if compression increases a bit you have bad rings..if it doesnt, it could be a burnt valve, hole in the piston, headgasket etc.

hmm it seems like these cars are blowing up every otherday, im seriously thinking about going back to stock and maybe trading for a new car

More or less it's using pulleys smaller than 2.8". That seems to be common. You'd figure the s/c would go first not rings but...boost does that.

i know it all about the tune. my car is still on the stock pully and i have a custom tune by 06blackg85ss(paul) and i know hes one of the best at tuneing. but it just seems like theres another one blowing up everyday.

what people do with their right foot blows more engines than tunes IMO.
if any of you saw what an EGT gauge, and IAT2s do after a few back to back runs, or *rolleyes* top speed runs, your eyes would boggle.

Is this only on supercharged Cobalts, or any vehicle in general?

It's somewhat harder to blow through piston rings on a naturally aspirated engine though it's still possible...likely if you **** with the timing without knowing what you're doing. Mainly, it's the boost that blows through piston rings (and possibly crowns/domes) because the pressure is more than the rings can handle so the pressure builds and the rings (mainly the first and (sometimes) second ring) lose they're seal and that's when it's time for a new piston/rings/pins but not likely a new rod.

yeah i put oil back in it before i drove home...i got the next few days off so im gonna mess with it and see what i can find out...i will keep post to let everyone know what happend
