methanol

anyone ever use methanol on the ss/sc atleast like 10% in the tank mixed with the gas?

I've been talking to one of my friends and he brought that up that alot of cars with blowers/turbos use methanol and are shaveing some seconds off.

If not does anyone know how we can run methanol safley?

im also taking about running the methanol without water and directly in the gas

Just do meth injection if your really wanting some added methanol affects.

Here in Arizona they add 10% Ethanol to our gas for emmisions reasons. It is comprable to Methanol, and if we can handle one then I wonder if we can handle another.

I would be interested to see what our fuel system can handle.

On the 2.4L controls there is a table built in that you can tune to make the car run on Alcohol. Don't know if it's really feasible, but it's in the VCM.

Yeah, I heard that too. Our cars were in the early stages of development for flex fuel, but they did go through with it or something. So the fuel system may be able to hanle it OK, not for sure though.

I have heard both sides on fuel lines and pumps. Should be ok for 10%, but 100% I'm not sure on that, but one thing I do know, better performance worse gas mileage. But it is a little cheaper generally.

There are computer controls to run off of methanol, and for displacement on Demand in the 2.4L's. I think they had big plans for it as an all out economy motor.

If you are gonna spray anything, do it after the blower with a spacer plate.

(not mine)

EDIT: Sorry I misread this post entirely, lol. I've been in the garage for way too many hours today, lol.
The pic is still scary anyways. Anyways, Carry on, Flex fuels kick ass, but I dunno how they would interact with mods and higher boost levels

^^^My bad, I wasn't on here much for a few months, and must have missed that. I just found that pic in the gallery a couple days ago.

Regardless though I personally would feel safer running spray of any type after the blower, there really is no draw back to the spacer plate, especially for the guys running smaller pulleys who could use the added tension in the belt.

In my opinion running after the blower will not cool the intake temps as it will cool the supercharger as much, only the SUPER HOT stream of already really really hot air. Not the supercharger itself.

Cooling down all of that SUPER HOT air that is compressing in the intercooler is our main goal, and with less superheated air beneath the blower, the blower itself will inherently experience less heat soak. The biggest priority is getting the coldest air possible into the cylinders. I would like to see some logging of a car running the same system pre and post blower on our cars.

But to each his own, it is easier to spray into the intake.
