Meziere IC Pump Install

I tried to post a How to on the install of a Meziere IC pump, but it has not been accepted yet. I was wondering whether any of you were interested in how i installed it.

This is the pump i installed.
http://www.jegs.com/p/Meziere/750520/10002/-1

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the how to approved? Or if they don't approve it, do they not tell you that it wasn't approved or not?

I have added a few pics of the install below. It does take time, but this pump is 3 times more reliable then the stock unit, which was the main reason for doing this in my head. I have only heard a lot of you guys complaining about the stock pump failing every year and in some cases even more. I really can't compare the pumps to a before and after, because i didn't have my interceptor gague until a few months ago, which is the reason i found out that my pump had failed.

I am runing a 2.8 pulley, option b kit, dual pass end plate, headers, down pipe with high flow cat, magna-flow cat-back, mustang dyno tune, injen CAI. when i am cruzing at 65-75 i am seeing a 25 degree difference between iat1 and iat2. When i really punch it for long periods of times, it makes it up to a 50 degree difference. I haven't really gotten it over a 50 degree difference between the two temps.

Overall, how much did you spend on this project(if you don't mind me asking)?

And I see anywhere from 10-20 degree difference when driving 65-75 mph with my new pump. It's not the same brand. It's a bosch pump that came off of a ford lightning(the same pump that come stock on SS/SC).

Did you have to drill holes in the chassis or body to mount that or did your bracket use the original holes from the stock mount?

I'd say around $220. The pump and fittings were the main expense. The piece of angle alluminum was about $7, and then the bolts and screws might have been $5 total.

What kind of pulley do you have?

You can't use the stock mount because this pump can only be mounted upright. I drilled two holes into the engine support right beside the Tranny mount. I wanted to reuse the existing mount, but i couldn't because of the way the pump mounts. I wanted the water flow to be as straight through as possible. If i used the existing holes, my tubing would have had to make an extra loop instead of going directly into the stock intercooler.

50 degrees is a HUGE difference.

the Mezeire pump costs more than stock, flows less than stock, weighs more, is less reliable and harder to mount.

Best bet is the stock Bosch pump, I did a comprehesive write up on it on our site.

What are the flow rates of the pumps?

i average 10-15 degrees difference between iat 1 and 2 when freeway cruising, and 3rd gear pulls itll go up to about 30 degrees. that my meziere pump with dual pass. seems to be working a hell of a lot better than my bosche one.

30 degrees is still a good bit of difference.

I'm being very modest when i say 25 degrees difference between iat1 and iat2. It goes down to 15 degrees, but thats when your on the gas a little bit. We all know that when you let off the gas, the temps go up. I'm just one of those guys who doesn't want to post crazy numbers. If i am accelerating the whole time, i can get it down to 15 degrees difference. but i am figuring an average of 25. Plus the reliability of this pump is way better then stock.

Says someone who has had it installed for all of a week. I bet you'll need a new one of those around the time my new Bosch pump craps out.

Well sorry i haven't had the pump on my car for a few years yet. I just read up on how the stock Bosch pump lasts for 1000 hours and the Meziere pump lasts 3000 hours. And it comes with a full 2 year unlimited mile warranty. But i guess i can't give you hard facts since yes, i just put the pump on. I'll get back to you guys in a few years to tell you whether or not it is more reliable then the stock pump. Hopefully you haven't replaced your stock one 2 times by then because then you already spent more money then i did.

I may as well quit writing anything on here. I'm just trying to help out, but there are always people on here that act like little kids and post little bitchy responses like this one. Why don't you just keep that to facebook and keep the drama out of the car forums.

thats the point i got to with my install thread. when i asked about aftermarket pumps and people mentioned a couple, i posted a few and the meziere is what i picked after nobody saying they tested it, and reading about mustang guys who use no other. well, when i posted my install thread i had 4 pages of people telling me this pump is **** and i shouldnt have wasted my money.

all i know is that i had 2 bosche pumps fail in one year, both were brand new. the first the dealer replaced under warrenty, the other i replaced with the meziere. when i did my research, i found hundreds of cobra/lightning guys who swear by this pump, some racking up 100k miles and over 5 years with them without any issues.
