It's up on the CED site. I just purchased the upgraded tensioner, because I'm re-timing my engine at the moment. The new tensioner comes in its compressed state, so all u need to do is remove the old one, and install the new one.
nah im talking about doing the whole assembly. i've got 65k on my motor and idk... i replaced the tensioner but the motor just sounds like **** idling, sometimes when i rev quickly it sounds choppy... makes me think the timing set is in some need of maitenance... 30k of those miles are daily driven/boosting hard by me, the rest idk lol

Okay, back to the to a few more questions that i have.

i f*cked up. just gonna say that, i got the cams way off alignment from the crank. How do i find TDC for #1 if the cams arent chained, and do i just set the cams just like the guide tells me?

Also, does this effect the balancer system?

Okay, thanks. Last night when i was just trying to replace the tensioner and top guide i found more chunks of plastic. I realized then that i should put it on a lift with access to air for my pneumatic tools.

Ill post picture of the damage when i get done. Thanks for the help. i might have more questions before i start.

Ask away.... I'm currently timing my car after my cam / valve spring install.

I might be able to help since it's fresh in my mind.

WOOT! Got it! So, after taking the time to figure out what bolts need to come out in what order.. we finally got everything off. i proceeded to note all of the damaged parts including the "3 piece" black chain guide. After i finished with that one i moved over to the big arched white guide, i noticed it was already loose, until i pulled it out. At that point i realized that the bold had been sheared off and there was a broken bolt in the block. I immediately lost motivation. My friend and I finished installing all we could at the shop and packed up and pushed the car out in the parking lot. After a trip to Ace hardware, we bought an "easy out" bit and a confidently guessed M6x1.0 bolt with a guess at length. When we got back, the bolt in the block was already free, it just needed to be turned out with the easy out. when we got it out, i matched the bolts together and it was a perfect fit. We finished aligning all of the chain color markings. torqued everything down, put the covers back on, installed the serp belt, installed the coil packs, and patched everything else up.

Moment of truth, we started it. it came up with a fair amount of engine noise for a few seconds and immediately quieted down. (guess it just needed oil) It hadn't run in over 3 months so i put 6 gallons of 91 oct in it and ran it down a long back road stretch. got up to around 120 with no issues.

I am thoroughly pleased with the support yall have given me. As much as i dont believe in front wheel performance, this I-4 packs some serious power. Thanks alot, ill try and post some pictures tomorrow when i have rested and finished cleaning my truck of tools and parts. I also have a gopro, ill get yall a video.
