Update on the DD.
I sent the engine to JBP. I have decided that instead of shipping my spare back we are going to rip apart this engine and refresh it with what ever it needs including new Diamond forged pistons. The head hasn't been pulled yet but if there was any damage/wear to that we will also redo that with a slight upgrade.
This will all start some time mid next week after JBP gets to the point where my other car can go to the next shop.

Well, I guess I could do the same headwork and pistons if I ever get to see my car again since it seems like an eternity! Then there will be a lot of phone calls to some other helpful enthusiasts on here which would end in badass tune.
I will be sleeping lightly when I get home from this deployment if I don't buy a ring soon, so I feel you on that!

Still this is more of a precaution because we are going into the engine already.
I still have no other plans for the DD as all the $$$ is set aside for the project car.

Update on DD engine
The latest news on my DD is in from JBP.
They took the time yesterday to rip into the engine. They discovered that the damage wasn't really bad but there is damage.
The bearings are reworkable albeit they would have a shorter life span.
The valvetrain is ok but the camshafts are burnt as are the rocker arms.
I chose to replace all the bearings, go with a JBP stage 1 head plus SS valves and a set of JBP stage 2 camshafts.
On top of that we have a set of Diamond pistons and we are planning to strap the Harrop TVS to this engine.
Seeing as I already have all the cooling and suspension mods already done, as well as the Exedy clutch & flywheel and DSS stage 2 axles, this is all this car gets. Oh that is beside the tune that I will require for the cams and TVS.

Sounds like things are getting back to sweetness soon enough Rod. Damn you and the TVS! I know you were going to go that route! Can't blame you though! Can't wait to see here back in action man!

It seems to me that the trip would make more sense if you skipped work on the Friday, flew out the Thursday night and headed back the Sunday afternoon. You don't get to back if the car isn't tuned 100%
