I'd say no. Mine are less than 10* apart while cruising.

Try to take off the top screw on the stock h/e. FYI fluid will probably start gushing out, but just re-cap it when this happens. Should get all the air out.

you can never get all the air out of the stock system with that POS filler neck, opt.b or flow through with a bleeder line out of the top of the H/E are basically the only ways to be sure its all out.

when you do it, make sure you follow the gm(CED) option b directions for hose routing. it does make a difference.

you mean to do this, IF i wind up doing an option b, or if i just attach and run a piece of hose out of the top of the h/e?

and if i do attach a hose to the he, how do i ensure i don't lose all my coolant?

so in the end the line coming from the top of the surge tank goes to the top of the stock heat exchanger? and i'd need to drill a hole and put a fitting for that

Like i said earleir about bleeding it, there is a screw on the top of the stock h/e. This is the place to run the option B line, or you can temporarily bleed the air out by taking it out while the car is running.

This is how the bolt remains elusive. Covering it's tracks behind itself at every opportunity.
