need a hand

ok i have a 07 ss sc cobalt first of to make sure thats a lsj right? now i am looking for a down pipe and cat back iam thinking about the zzp dp catted and cb without the resonator any opions and will that dp match up with my stock manafold

yea the ss sc is also known as the LSJ platform. The zzp downpipe will bolt right up to the stock header, and IMO if you like been loud then get the catback without the resonator. if not then get the resonator. will these be ur first mods?

get a resonator! the car will sound like **** without one and resonators dont cause you to lose hp.

Ehh im iffy about it, when i got mine the resonator was bad in it so i hated since i put it on, i got the resonator fixxed and its alot better but still a bit to loud during normal driving but its what happens when you got for a cheaper product and it been used, im prolly change my muffler to a super turbo muffler i may lose a few hp but atleast I wont hear my exhaust poppin when i shift or i let off the gas.

^ I have teh Megan as well, i like to popping when im downshifting adn such, but it its Frickin Loud on WOT. im thinking about going the same route with a super turbo.

OP, i would look into a Badmab header while your at it. they're under $200 and have great reviews

The Megan is a pos. I had one on for almost 3 years and I couldn't stand it. Too much drone, too raspy, and it just plain sounds like ****. Not to mention all the flanges and also the piping on either side of the resonator aren't stainless steel, mine fell apart when I was trying to take it off.

I went with the Corsa Touring ( a bit pricy for some, but well worth it) and I'm in love with my car again.

Just please don't buy a Megan, you'll regret it.

if you do get the zzp cat back add the resonator. a buddy of mine runs this set up and it sounds boss

I feel you. I just wanna get rid of the M-N1 muffler.. its so ******* loud.

Its too frickin loud any throttle position.
Hell, who makes the super turbo muffler?
I'm tired of the M-N1. Too loud, fart can, silencer doesn't do ****.

It's not really a "pos." It's a love or hate thing.
I don't have money for a new cat-back.
Going to go the above route and get a super turbo muffler welded on, even though I have no idea what that is or sounds like, but that seems to be the consensus.

Yes, it's a 4" tip.

The only gripe I have with mine is it's always loud.
If losing a couple horses with a new muffler gets rid of sounding WOT all the time, I'm all for it.

any Turbo style muffler (see Summit Racing) is generally the same idea. i would recommend using a Stainless muffler, as the aluminized ones will rust out in a few years

i put a Super turbo on my stock cat back before i bought the megan and i loved it. almost silent while cruising, but throaty under accel, not raspy. must turbo style mufflers are aluminized. so theres Boral for $100 or Flowmaster for $65

Super turbo was the name of the muffler. its just a turbo style muffler.

well i have a intake i do plan on stage 2 is 3inch to big and is it hard to install with out a lift

The Megan sounds pretty damn loud without the silencer on with the windows down and a car on the left side, haha.

40 series is not a super turbo
Its one of the loudest mufflers flowmaster has. Look it up
I have dynomax superturbo and love it
