Need help

Alright guys I have a 2005 cobalt ss. I was riding down the road and hit a piece of blacktop sticking up. Needless to say it busted my oil pan but at the time i was not aware of it. I drove the car to the top of a hill, id say an estimated 1min driving time till i reached the top and the oil light came on. I shut the car off and it came to a stop. I looked and there was sure enough oil leaking from it. I tried to crank the car to move it, but was unable to. It would make a click sound and that was it. Tried jumpin it off but that didnt work either. Some say the car has a safety feature that locks it up when there is no oil, and some say the motor is locked up. If anyone can hlp me id appreciate it. Msg me on here or e-mail...farler_pcc2004@yahoo.com Thanks

Don't even try to start it with no oil! Get it towed and get a new oil pan!

bought a new oil pan...$152+ tax...and filled it with mobil 1 oil. Sit the car back down and tried to start it. All i got was a click and it would kill the battery. Should i try unhooking the battery? and see what happens?

If you drove with no oil, chances are you have some big problems. Was there anythign left? or was it totally drained.

for future reference, if your car is leaking any kind of fluids stop imediately, check it out, and if you can't fix it right there have it towed.

Are u sure u need a new motor, cuz i pretty sure u can run a car on no oil for a certain time period be4 shes done, thats how people do the cash for clunkers.

I would do a battery test first or try and jump it, then compression test ur motor. I would think theres a fail safe on the PCM like limp mode kinda when it knows somethings wrong.

Post up when u get more info.

im almost 100% sure that the motor is completely locked up..so to save my self some time i just bought another motor. It had 15,000 miles on it and has a stage 2 kit with it. Also bought a Injen CAI. Can someone give me some numbers that u think this will be putting down. I paid $1500 for the motor...is that a bad deal?

the stage 2 is suppose to give a extra 40hp, and from what GM is rating this cars it would be 245hp, but some peeps are stock dynoing 210hp or more

but for u probably the 250 bench mark, who knows unless u dyno

im running header/downpipe/3inexhuast/intake= 225hp 192tq without tune

Maybe close to 230 area. Stage 2 with the GM tune isn't going to be very spectacular.

it depends on the area you live too, the climate and such as it will go into the kind of power you will produce. im gonna get a tune for 300 with free updates so its a great deal.
everyone will see diff numbers as the dynos measure diff from the other dynos

It takes two credits to unlock the ss. Which is a 100 $. But when some one tunes it they will charge a fee, because tunin is not easy. I tune myself and i have a couple tunes, i have a tune for 42lbs injectors with gm stage 2 pulley rangin from 2.8 and up. I have tunes for 60lbs injectors and the stock tune that i modified. It all depends on where you live, and so forth. Because you have to change yoyur fuel map, maf map, pusle rate, just alot of work lol.. Where is hazard. Is that onthe west side of kentucky or east, i am near elizabethtown kentucky, about 35 mins away from it..

Hey man you ever heard of visialia, or tularre county cali. I am from there, lived there my whole life and then my mommoved me to this butt fuc# place
lol

LOL, You so funny. Anyways, yeah man there is a lot of time in tuning, but lucky him he lives in the same state, so thre is a lot in common with us two. Meaning area, humidity, times and so forth so i have a tune i made that would work just for him if i can get ahold of a tuner that is next to him or we could meet lol.... yeah the tune i have a is a stage two tune with with some modifications for our area. I made it from scratch but it worked good for my car, real good. Now i am running 60s and a ported blower with a 2.6 pulley so i had to change my tune. Tuneing for 60s isnt to bad but it is a whole lot hard then it is 42s. lol

But yeah

thanks bro

james

those cities sound familiar but i probably dont live close to them, mom's is suppose to know best haha
thats cool you can tune and make the car happy
i plan to up it to 42 or 60lbs injectors and get a 2.9 pulley and the other goodies, but for now stock pulley and stock injectors, any idling problems with the bigger injectors?
there's a guy who tunes by me and if you look @ post #19 or so i talk about his deal, the free updates is the best because he will retune me when i get some big boy stuff on this baby just the bolt ons now
