Need Help Removing CV shaft from Transaxle.
I have been pulling on it for 20 min now and it wont come out. I know there is a little ring in the spline that helps hold it in. Its shaped like a C and is easy to compress. So If I pull on the axle it should just pop out of the transaxle right?
Anyone replaced a cv shaft assembly b4? Any help would be much appreciated.

One thing to watch out for is fluid leaking out on the driverside. I think I lost about 1.5 qts on the ground since I wasn't ready for it come pouring out.
Any one know what fluid part# GM sells that we need to replace with and how much goes in there?

The part # for GM syncromesh is 21018899 . I believe its 1.8 quarts on the capacity . Thankfully I heard everyone else say they lost fluid before I did mine , so I was manned and ready to plug the hole as soon as the axle came out ....I only lost a couple drips doing that way .

have always used a nice prybar and hammer when needed...
watch the seal and if u can grab a clutch alignment tool that may fit... would save the trouble from losing fluid

When you guys installed these new axels did you have to disconnect the lower ball joint or the shock from the carrier to allow enough room to manuver the axel into the hub hole? I'm having a hell of a time trying to get these new axels back in. I got them all the way into the transmission, but where the axel goes into the hub I can't get them to bend enough to allow me to insert them into the hole there.
Was wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks
EDIT: Ok... Rob(FAST06SS) just PM'd me.... Thanks
