New Mahle Forged 4032 Aluminum Phosphate Coated Pistons
In the January 2007 issue of HOTROD magazine, page 123.
"Mahle has new powerpak piston kit out for GMs 2.0L aluminum block ecotec. Mahles ecotec pistons are forged from 4032 aluminum alloy for increase strength under pressure, coated with a phosphate dry-film lubricant to reduce wear in the ring grooves and pin bores, and skirt coated with Grafal to reduce friction, noise, and bore wear. The pistons also feature a special slipper skirt design intended to reduce weight and drag, as well as lighert-weight pins and forced-pin oiling."
Price: $409.00 a set.

However I cannot touch them for that low of a price. Is that what they where suggesting for retail on them? If so I have some phone calls that need to be made asap.

Ok down to the same price at least. Thanks for the post. It helps a ton when people post hey I can get it here for this price and bla bla. Then I can go in with some leverage to get cheaper pricing myself.

I should be able to give you all some info on the install being that on tuesday my ss took a ****, and I spent about 4 hours to day trying to get the 4 popper out. I ordered my Mahle pistons from Cobalt Performance Parts Thanksgiving night along with ARP head bolts, and a 450 HP head gasket. I would love to work out some type of a sponsership with CobaltPerformanceParts.com so that I can completely build my internals pistons, rods, valves, valve springs, neutral balance shaft, and some cams if they would be interested.

These pistons look nice, however it's too bad they don't have a stock compression ratio. 8:5:1 is safer for high boost, but will make less power with the stock m62. For example, if someone were to put stock compression forged pistons when they build thier motor (head's/cams, etc), they'd make more power than someone who used these pistons with their build, if the stock M62 is still the power adder.

Well bots finished pulling my motor to day, and as I figured another stock piston broke off around the rim. Can't wait to get my Mahle pistons in, and as far as the lose of hp goes, I'll take a 5 to 10 hp decile in order not to have to see the SS on a nother Damn tow truck. After all is done I'll dyno it and give you some numberes.
