Now a victim of Injen CAI woes

FastSS06 had the same problem with his, but he put a piece of rubber over the lip that rubs against it. I was worried about my Fujita, but it's fine, the rubber connector for the tubes sits against it so it doesn't dig into the actual metal part.

I used multiple layers of electical tape on that part. But since it was such a tight fit and close it eventually rubbed through the tape on to the metal of the intake. By the way, I have not thrown a single CEL with the Injen and never had any issues with the hood hitting it. Hence the reason I thought I was one of the lucky ones. The only issue is what you see in the pictures, the area that rests against the sharp edge of the body.

This is the reason why I haven't thrown any mod money at my car yet, no one agrees with anything. Got people arguing on exhausts, from what the actual size of corsa and GMHP is, to dezod and vibrant claims but no dynoes to back it up. Intake arguments. Stage kit arguments, Intense or GM or make your own. Purchase a tune or make your own. Some is BS, some opinion, some truth, some extenuating circumstances. I'm just going to continue to wait and see and read, read, read.

I just installed one of the 2.0L intakes on my personal SS SC. Not one place does the pipe even come close to 3/4 inch of any part of the frame. The new dimpled ones with the "injen" logo on it fit perfect. (I was AMAZED) I did notice 2 big things you need to remember when installing:
1. Completely install the intake, but do not tighten up ANYTHING until it is all in place.
2. Rotate the rubber coupler that is between the throttle body and the pipe, and tiwst on the pipe also, so the pipe sits perfectly in the engine bay.
ADDED NOTE: The vibration damener installed perfect, the spacing out from the frame, as well as the line up for the bolt to go through the bracket was aligned well.
If you have an old injen intake design without a dimple you must email hung at injen "Tech@Injen.com" They will get this figured out. It takes up to 2-2.5 months to get a new one, after you get the process going. Be friendly to Injen (Hung) and he will do the same back
Just so everyone knows, we order new intakes from them and it takes us 1-1.5 months to get them, so we have to pre order a long time before we even can have them ready to sell. This is why sometimes we have a 1 week back order on them, because we have already waited over a month for Injen to get our stock to us.
They are not the fastest to get you the replacement (basically what I am getting at) BUT they WILL get you a new one and make it right with you, just takes time.

I still haven't heard from Injen. It's been over a week since I initially emailed them about the replacement tube. How long have you guys waited for an initial response?

Not the best pics but they show the improvements I know a bunch of people with the newest injen and they have no complaints.
My old 2nd revision one was ****.
If the logo looks like this dont install it

yeah injen cai are a big pice. spend the money and get a FUJITA COLD AIR INTAKE. its comes in two pieces this way you have room to tweek it. dont get me wrong it was a pain in the a$$ to put in. its a two person job but no rubbing and it screams! o yeah you might want to get a hydro shield bag to go over the open filter because water can get to it from the hole above the left fog light and the other open hole in the wheel well. i checked it on a day after it rained just to make sure and the bottom was wet but the hydro shield put s stop to that.
