Octane booster?
Ok so u see gas prices are going up and i was wondering if instead of putting 93 in our cobalt ss/scs we can just put in regular with a octane booster i think this will save us some money at the pump. its actually this stuff called imports it says it increases acceleration reduces heat and wear and is better for our cars do u think this is a good idea.

pour in some toluene
octane is about 114-118. Do the math to get whatever octane levelyou want. Buy it at a paint store. Don't use xylene though. Dry up your tubes.
Many tuners use toluene as a home-style octane booster. Toluene, an aromatic circular hydrocarbon chain, is a regular component of pump gas and is available in various grades at chemical supply stores. Premium street gasoline carries roughly 3- to 5% toluene, which partially helps octane characteristics. Unocal's 100-octane race gas has almost 25% toluene.
The drawback to any of these additive ingredients is the diminishing effect they have on higher-octane fuels. Adding the same booster to 87-octane pump gas will yield a lot more octane gain than adding a bottle to 91-octane premium gas. Excessive concentrations of these additives also damage emissions-control hardware, such as spark plugs, injectors, oxygen sensors and catalytic converters.

Octaine boost works. Its concentrated octaine. I remember in my ricer days I poored 2 bottles of that **** in my car and wow, exaust sounded louder and engine more peppy. It works, and usually it will tell you how many points increase on the box. Make sure if your putting it in your balt it dont have MSDG Or what ever that additive is that causes deposits. Test it and see if its cost effective, and if it works Let us know.

It was my probe SE 4 cyl, IM telling you man, combustion = better with better gas, that you will notice. I swear it felt faster, if not the sound of it made it feel faster.

spend $the 3.15 on 93 not $2.78+$3.00(octane booster which only gets u .001pts)on something that will serve no function in your car except knock underboost then mad engine retard which is much lose in power which soon can take a piston out, then a trip to chevy on a flat bed, with a work order of needs enging overhaul, blown up...lol srry but its the truth detination and preignition are 2 things u dont want so dont be cheap...especially for the boost guys

Forget about using Octane Booster. It doesn't work and ur wasting ur money where u can otherwise spend it on 93-94 OCT. At the most it'll raise it .7 pts. Which means if u have 94 octane and u add one of those Race NOS octane booster, ur only gona get 94.7 octane...and one of those bottles cost like 15-20 bucks whereas u can slap in 20ish bucks worth of gas into ur car. Not to mention octane booster leaves a nice green residue in ur gas tank and sludges up ur fuel injectors.
