i don't have slicks. and the skinnies aren't on the car. but either way thats for the track not the street. a good street tire will hold it. if it spins in second learn how to pedal the car. and i don't mean womping the gas up and down going bwaaaah spin bwah spin bwah spin bwaah shift, booooog.

that is what I was figuring. I dont plan to go much over 400 I just want the number. Like so many its just a number, its not necessarily going to make my 1/4 any better if I am just burning rubber. I stand by my already paid for 20g and I dont plan on anymore than this. My best shot is coming up as soon as I get my block back. I have 80lb inj, e85, 20g, ported head, and 3 inch turbo back exhaust by Hahn; not to mention the million other things I have added in the process. If this doesnt do it, the 20g is hopeless. At any rate. After I get her back together, the only thing I have left in my personal to do list is cams. Then... done as far as engine goes.

i think you shouldn't place blame on the turbo per say. There's a lot of factors that go into power bands. The tune for instance.....

Right, that is why all the mods I have done is to remove those factors. When it comes time to dyno, it will come down to the tune. Totally agree. Hope the guys here are savvy. They mostly do built LS3 and up engines. A few turbos. Hoping they can pull some ponies out of my cobalt.

Larger turbos seem to give lower tq numers and smaller turbo seem to give more tq but as was mentioned earlier, its all speculation because where is it making power in the powerband? You will see k04 guys making more torque than hp and vise verse' in larger turbos where hp is huge but tq is decreased. Remember though high torque breaks transmissions so a larger turbo making big power with a more conservative tq curve is good for longevity of parts.

The more I hear the more I feel like the 259 is better for what I want I mean to be able to run a conservative tune n boost n hit numbers close or above the 400s would be amazing and im sure I could daily it easily. Any suggestions kit wise tho? Per say I buy exsoccers 259 how could I go about getting a whole kit pieced together

lag, it's a street car. you want pep. sure a 259 is going to be great up top but only being able to rev to 7200 max on a stock head is making the power band kind of worthless.

I think that's what he's saying. I'm running the s252et and the lag kinda pisses me off sometimes, especially in third gear. Can't imagine what a 259 would be like. Sometimes I think I would've been happier and more content going with a small pulley on a tvs and meth. Might have been less power but more fun to daily drive. I miss the torque down low and having to get my rpms up before my car feels like it has any sort of *****

^this and mine is with a 20g, I make full boost at something like 3300 rpm and it feels like forever compared to my stock supercharger.

You guys need to read a little more about turbos/ turbo set ups, tuning, and little tricks that have been used for a while now that make it easier to make boost early.

E85 and cram timing down its throat. I hit 25.5psi at 3,700rpm and my s256 is different from the one Zzp sells now. I have a larger exhaust wheel and the 4 inch inlet front cover which slows down spool slightly

i feel bad for you if you see lag on a 252. wtf are you doing, punching in 3rd at 30mph???? i mean **** i only have a .55 turbine on a 74/64 wheel and i don't think its bad at all. at the track i shift from 2nd to 3rd and it literally, is instantly back at a huge amount of boost.

the man said "i want a turbo that at low boost and a conservative tune" (to me is teens to 20psi on pump) "will make 400hp. and then when i upgrade the internals i can turn it up and make 500s". josh dont get me wrong i love your setup. but i don't see what youre doing as low boost nor pump gas.

if you are talking about power enrich fuel multiplier vs rpm in hptuners, yeah my curve looks like a snake. YOu can only toon so much around certain things, there is still going to be some lag.

No I'm not punching it in third gear at 30mph. I don't have that much lag, I have no problem breaking the tires loose in second I just want a little more up and go in third without having to wind out second when shifting to third. Its probably not even that bad I'm just used to the car and its craving more.

So exsoccer just driving around on the road where do you tend to see full boost at when it was set to 20psi?
