its has a pretty stout following throughout the sti and evo world all making more power than me. Blouch has taken to the xtreme with the xt (xtended tip) with their xt-20g. I could send my turbo off for half the price of a new turbo to Blouch and make the thing spin like a top but would rather save and get a gtx3076.

I worked my ass off on this car, built my motor with little more than a build book, this board and Mrb on the speed dial. 100s of hours thousands spent, hit my goal and you cant be happy for my build. Well it means a lot to me anyway. Loved every minute of it. If I go down the quarter at 12's I will still be fine with my turbo, cause its my build. I didnt pay anyone to do my work. Gotta lotta pride in my old tech and no monies for anything else at the moment.

take it to 30 if you have the block for it.

damn dude get your panties out of a bunch. i never ******* said anything about your build. you just picked the wrong turbo. and like everyone else out there running them, don't realize it.

but i like how every one takes a stab at the whole "cause its my build. I didnt pay anyone to do my work." well i'm sorry i was the FIRST ONE to build a car like this outside ryan and matt. you know, back when the engine was 'in shop install only' and i was living in the barracks and didn't have the means, time, or space to build it myself??

but right. cobrajets and challenger drag packs must not be true cars either cause they're built at a factory.

typical military answer, you want me to fill out a "hurt feelings report". Sounds like everyone else I work with in the air force, you would do well in the enlisted flying world... You have been at the top of the hp game for so long you forgot where you started. I didnt even know you paid zzp to build your motor, if I had the cash it would have gone down like that. That got heated quick. Never meant anything by what I posted. Promise there was no escalation in that post except for the 20g defense.

edit: never said anything about not being real cars anywhere? confused on that one.

typical military answer? lol ask anyone. the millitary is the last thing i would choose as a crutch. people want a reason why i didn't build my motor. there ya go. and actually contrary to popular believe, i am not "on the top of the hp game" and have no problem with it.

it's cool you did the engine yourself. if i could have i would have as well. but your goals for the 20g are far fetched. let alone you're on e85 only make 420 as it is.

420 on a stock fuel system. I thought I was being realistic, if I wanted 500 out of that thing, that is far fetched but for me this is where it ended up. If someone 8 months ago would have had a zzp turbo kit for sale for 2200 bucks I would be riding behind a 256 or better. ZZp or hahn or whatever, it was a start. No where to go but to a bigger turbo and better fuel. It never ends.

thanks, hey if you are going to error on the side of the rings when the motor goes together, error on them being a bigger gap, you dont want them to close up under heat and scratch the crap out of your cylinder walls. Mine are at .024~ and .014~ by the chart I showed you. But they are realistically a little more, say .025 and .018. No blow by and still have awesome compression, dont remember what psi compression was but it was enough to make a crappy 20g go over 400. LOL (poking fun at myself) I was scared crapless the first time we did pulls in my motor. Was sure I was going to forget something and mess the build up. 300 miles later the thing runs great.

but they aren't cobalts. and i bet they spool faster as well. probably 2.2 or 2.4 engines? if you can get it to spool sooner and shift flat out without taking your foot off the gas, it might happen.

I really cant figure anymore on it. Only way to know is to go. But you are right, those are awd, and heavily modified 20g's.

I'll let my engine guy know. I think I'll have him do the short block as I've got a bit of money in this motor and don't want to blow it up. I'll do the turbo parts, head and swap myself. I'll save my practice rebuilding skills for v8's as I have easier access to them! Lol

run the same end gap top and second so you don't get pressure spikes between the rings and cause the top ring to flutter

sometimes when I fart I get flutter.

I used this from total seal. Called to verify gaps as well.
