Jumping in here to ask a quick question. Debating what I want to do with my Redline in the future (Get into another SS TC again, different car, etc). For those of you running turbo swaps on an LSJ without the G85 LSD, how bad is it?

i dont have one and its not that bad. tq steer is worse in supercharged cars. But if I had 700 bucks to buy one from mongorat that would be on my list after fuel, cams, bigger turbo. in that order.

So you're not one-wheel peeling around when you get on it? I know the viscous method probably isn't ideal LSD for straight line performance but I was worried if I eventually did end up turbo swapping the tupperware it would have traction issues and what not.

Nice to know. Generally speaking, what kind of 60's do you get on slicks/radials/whatever you use?

lsd is more for handling than straight line traction.

Quite true, words cannot describe how much the Redline sucks in a turn when you give it power as compared to my SC with the limited slip and TC in the past. I was just curious if it played much of a role in a higher powered one while going straight.

1.9 on these radials. 1.7s can be had on slicks. with the right suspension power and tire 1.6s

I have an LSD and second gear still must be feathered in order to maintain traction.

LSD helps overall any kind of traction. With an open diff you can get 1 tire fires when with an lsd both tires will spin.

Guys quick question. I'm getting ready to buy and lnf alternator from Mongorat. Does anyone know if the lnf tensioner is the same as the 2.2? Also what about the idler pulley ? I know ill use the lnf belt too. I already have a 2.2 alt but it's a two pin connector

idler is connected to the tensioner, lnf alternator is what I am running, it will work, l61 idler is the same as the lnf and either one will work.

Thanks man called my Gm dealer and the 2.2 is the same as the lnf tensioner. No idler listed. Le5 is different. So technically all I need is lnf alt, tensioner and belt. Cool

an idler is a wheel that is just there to "idle" another way to route the belt to keep as much belt as possible on an adjacent pulley. In our case the idler is the tensioner. I used an l61 tensioner/idler with an lnf alternator with an l61 belt.

Yea but we have an idler stock. And our tensioner sits up top. After doing research though the lnf/l61 tensioner goes in the spot where our idler is. Thanks man
