i would have done it myself. but being in the barracks, well you know how that goes lol. and at the time the engine was in-house-install only so i didn't even have a choice.

pretty much. my only expenses are ~$475-500/mo rent depending on the bills. $220 payment on the car. so lets say 750/mo living. other than that it's all spending money. and until the car is done i still pad my savings but i'm not worried about adding only a little bit each month.

yeah, i know man, I was about to do the same but needed to prove to myself that I could build a motor. If i could go back to square one I would have just put a stage 3 kit on the car from zzp and call it a day. This has been one expensive stressful process.

I paid 500 for my dyno tune but now I am adding cams and a brfps and they quoted me 300 bucks to retune everything up and do more dyno runs. I am hoping for 450 plus out of this 20g. I would like to get over 450 then tune it back for 450 daily.

I would do another turbo swap but I have hit my expense limit for some time and making 450 would pretty much make me the number 4 highest whp lsj other than zzp and a few others like yourself. And not sure but maybe the highest gen 1 20g of any one including hahn... Pretty much find that power crazy for a daily driver. The car already makes me a bit nervous and the excitement is there every time I get into the gas.

After taking the 20g apart and seeing how bullet proof it is with just a quick bearing replacement I have no fear of over-spinning this little snail. Its severely understated in our community for what it is.

there's actually quite a bit of guys up in that range.

ryan, matt, ryan, me, chris, josh, kenny, couple guys in this thread, some cars i've seen on youtube, guy from texas, and some others i can't think off the top of my head. but it's pretty much a little competition right now to see who's gonna grab the #2 spot between ryan(not zzp) matt(ssp) and myself. granted matt has everything available. but ryan and i can both get there.

None of them are doing that on an internally wastegated small turbo ( me)

For the cost of making that kind of power its outta my range. I am very content in my low to mid 400's. It for sure spanks all the guys on my base in thier stock/light mod JDM stuff. There are two guys in my squadron with v8's that I have taken on the way home from work. They smile and just shake their head, but from a dig they would take me. One is a stock 5.0 2011 mustang and the other is a worked over 400whp 99 Camaro. Going to try Centerville after I get the car off the dyno with the new cams/fuel.

the most i have seen on pump with the zzp kit was just over 400 making a 11.95 sec quarter on youtube. I would be well over 500 with one of their turbos and my mods. 20g is holding me back but just no monies for a full turbo manifold, turbo, wastegate, downpipe, diverted boost piping. I have a family of 5 and a mortgage.

you know we arent that far apart, maybe a good days drive? Is there any big events coming to OK city or that area? Arkansas has some good stuff but its limited.

the powerband is flatter on the 20g, it makes/made 395wtq 400whp on 20 psi from 4500-7500.

When I rebuilt it the turbo my scans are showing i am hitting full boost by 3600 (backed up by other 20g guys), its a very streetable turbo. May not be the newest or greatest but I really do have a special place for my first turbo.

yeah mine spools a little later than that. i mean the rest of the area under the curve more than makes up for it. but with a turbo making that kind of power you can only do so much for a quick spool ya know.

yes, there are some turbo making peaky type mountain shaped hp but done right you can make a very broad power band. I may slap the fuel regulator on for now get tuned up and wait on the cams for now. I want to join you guys on the 8th.

your car running to make the trip?

i'll put it this way. i'll run 35-40psi before i'll let the powerband suffer.

no the car won't be going anywhere but from bartlesville to here. and that won't be for quite a while.

i'm not sure. there may be some stations. there's a place right by me though that has a true blender pump. i doubt you'd come through okc though to get to tulsa.
