Mine looked to be pulled apart. In one the lower and upper (part of rod) were hardly connected by a single bent and stretched rod bolt

Lots of whiskey has also been known to drop rods.

My dyno runs had my tuner bouncing the car off the rev limiter after every pull and never broke anything. Not saying it wont break but for whatever reason he felt he would run it out til redline (7500) but for whatever reason the dyno didnt always display the data over 7000. We would get a bad backfire. Scared the crap out of me. What fuel were you running.

your numbers are encouraging for my build, considering that my original goal for my project is not that far off from your dyno numbers. not too mention now that you finally got a brfs, our mods are very similar.

yeah bro, i am blown away. I would have scoffed at you if you put these numbers up but I am a believer now. I also thought that my turbo would not do 27 psi -24 psi because it would not be obtainable/controllable; however, the turbo did not surge or have a major spike even with an internal wastegate. But it was just happy all day long even with the leaning out.

I think you will be there too if you are on ethanol.

The TD06/TD05 10cm housing made 540 crank horsepower if you add 15 percent drivetrain to that run. That is incredible but mainly only because of ethanol.

like I said, the dsm experts I talked to on my side of the world say that's where that turbo loves to be at. Get an external wastegate and bump it up to 30 and see what happens. That what I really want to do.

are you on the dsm forums? I thought about joining them. I spend a lot of time over there learning about the 20g anyway.

no, but my tuner is a dsm and lsj expert, and I have a extremely reputable dsm servicing my block (F.I.S.T. Racing). They've also serviced a few cobalts and other ls engines as well, but the shop owner is very well known in the dsm world.

ok so tomorrow I am going to the dark side... I have a question about the throttle body pin out. I am running an 8 pin FE5 throttle body (P# 12580195) which is the exact one off zzp. is this a plug and play unit or do I need to repin the harness. Anyone running this body? pics of adapter?

thanks

anybody running a 3 bar map instead of a BRFPS here. im not tuning my car, but wouldn't it just be easier to swap the sensor and change the maps? or is it not that easy?

If you are at all serious about this build, you have over 5800 posts of reference material in this thread to read. Search "bar map" and you shall have all that you need to know about how a BRFPS has nothing to do with a MAP sensor in the LSJ P12 ECM. I am now running a BRFPS and still consider it a bandaid fix.

yeah, I look at it like a bandaid and would rather get the computer to "see" whatever it needs to "see"

It wont work, our LSJ PCM is limited on the MAF table and the map is useless for VE supposedly. I am tuned for both to 3000 rpm. Car runs like a beast. I recommend starting off a little slower with the turbo setup at around 15 psi. Start learning the limits from there. It will make more sense as you turn the boost up and watch what happens to the scan (hptuners). The one thing you can do is trick the car after it goes outside the MAF freq. PE will allow you to add fuel over that value. You can tune around it but BRFPS allows you to put more fuel into the equation by upping the fuel pressure as boost increases. It helped me a ton but now my stock fuel pump ran out of power making ability.

I pushed the stock fuel system and pump to its limit. And made 400whp on e85 with just 80lb injectors. With a brfps I was able to get a nice afr up to 440whp. Over that I started to lean out but still was not knocking. SO...

Stock fuel system, tune and 80lb injectors is maxed at 400-410whp on e85/20g 22 psi.

Stock fuel system, brfps, tune and 80lb injectors maxed out at 430-440whp on e85/20g 24 psi.

Stock fuel system, fuel pump, brfps, tune and 80lb injectors is 470whp on e85/20g 27 psi.

At least that has been my experience with my car the past 4 months or so on the dyno.
