I would beg to differ they had pcv pathways and oil sep biscuits and they were also built into the valve cover they did not look like what they use today but it was all there one in each valve cover

Do the LSJ biscuits come with gravy? Or is that the LNF's?

ill have to find some I got rid of all my mopar stuff and they were baffled with a biscuit and with a sep plate to keep the oil from the rockers getting into the intake tract I have seen gm covers done the same way and ford also

ive even worked fresh air systems on 80s stuff also we can go back and fourth all we want but the lsj uses a basic bare bones pcv system that functions and was not different then what was used years ago just because a one of the parts may look different or be in a different spot doesn't make it modern now the new vette pcv stuff may be completely new in how it functions and so fourth and parts and it might be the first actual modern pcv system out

no gravy? poutine? lol I have been dealing with both n/a and fi LS motors and the LT1 before that, also the LB9 and the L98 and they were just as you say. Lately the crankcase rocker cover venting has become a real issue as the motors make more than 400 hp and there is way too much oil up there. In NASCAR now they actually seal the rocker covers and the upper valve system is immersed in oil. Its a very expensive very well engineered system, and enables the motors to run 8800-9000 rpm for as long as they do on ovals. NASCAR is actually pretty amazing stuff in the engine department.

My good friend Kurt Urban ( Milan LSX shoot out engine winner in MI many times past) told me how he was recently given a tour of a reknowned NASCAR engine builder and it was impressive indeed. Kurt has moved from Michigan to NC.

Kurt would interest you guys, he was the man who did the work assembled the engines etc, on the 1000 hp Ecotec Cavvy drag cars W2W built for Chevrolet.

You don't have a vacuum source on them right? They are just vent to atmosphere? If so you are not pulling any vapor, oil, or anything for that matter out of the crankcase, that's why they are empty. Running e85 according to some websites has higher water content, you need to vac that stuff out of your engine. If atmosphere (around here) is 14.5 psi it wont overcome that.

^^^ troof.

e85 naturally is a gas "de icer" and pulls moisture. Thats why Ethanol has a real bad rap around Marina's. If it was me I would run two seperator in an e85 engine, one for water and one for oil...especially in high humidity areas and with short run cycles of 1.5 miles or so. Short trips are deadly for moisture build up.

I think you need to quit being gun shy and pull the trigger on one or the other. Do some of your own testing and quit relying on reading. There is only so much of that you can do before you just have to find out for yourself. Good luck.

nice, i know all about waiting on a tuner. Its very worth it though. Mine works for a very large dealership that specializes in twin turbo Corvettes and Camaros. They have always got a 2-4 week waiting period to get an appointment.

Well, jhaddock is finishing up his fuel system on his rl (zzp kit, 256et) and ill be getting him dialed in on the dyno in a few weeks in Auburn. If you wanna come down I can rent the dyno for the whole afternoon for like 200. Maybe less if I book far enough ahead.
Just lmk.
