This thread is temporarily closed.

I will re-open once I clean up all the off topic bickering posts.

The argument that caused this needs to stop, or go to PM's. When I re-open this thread I do not want to see another post off-topic.

Ok, I cleaned up the thread.

Do not fill this thread up with off topic BS again. I had to delete well over 30 posts. What a waste of my time.

Back on topic.

Pulls 7&8 were 505/438 and 508/445 respectively. Added another smoothed 1.5* on top to ****** that 500 mark from pull 6 which was like 498.56 and around 440 tq.
Those were all at 28psi.

None too shabby for a stock motor and bolt on turbo kit. And that magical corn

I'm looking to make around 350whp. Has anyone got any experience with these two turbos? Just want to see if anyone has numbers on a balt for them. They both seem to be full spool by 3800rmp ish.
Either turbo would work fine to get to 350whp. The 3071R is a little bit bigger, so you'll be able to get more out of it at the expense of a slight later spool. Both should spool well before 3800rpm, as well. The 2871R should make for a very fast spooling car with a real thick mid-range.

I'd say to go with the 3071R, because it'll give you some room to grow versus the 2871R. If you know you'll be content with ~350whp, the 2871 would be the best choice.

where are some pics of your car, I was telling this guy named chris lund about your car... he has 11 second srt4 neon and is famous in srt4 community. Guy with 600 hp integra, 500 hp civic, 700 hp roushcharged 5.0 swap.... Any of these car locally are down to run anytime or just meet up. Rob has kind of hung out with some of them.

My car isn't down here with me. And I'm only interested in other peoples numbers strictly for curiosity or respect of a build, not for the comparison of a possible race.

And not to be a dick but if you ask "where are some pics of your car", you probably don't know much about it and probably shouldn't be 'telling this guy about it'. Because one, I would rather not have misinformation spread about it. And secondly, if I'm going to burn a bridge I'm going to do it myself, not have some one else do it for me before I even meet the person they're talking to. Not really a fan of the whole "yeah my boy has this sick ass car that would drag your ass any roll any dig" that goes on in the car scene.

You need dyno numbers to get respect for a build?

^^^ yes. some sort of number. IMHO,the best number if you are nutswinging on how great a build is? A 1/4 mile slip. The next best ,I suppose, is a dyno sheet. Road wheel dynos are notoriously variable, but do give some sort of yardstick.

Josh Rodriquez ( blazin SS) is a heck of good guy, a loyal Cobalt owner and a stalwart of the Cobalt Nation network. BUT that said, he doesnt have any idea apart from a guess, as to what his conversion puts out. I have no idea how you effectively tune a conversion like that, as (again IMHO) it takes both dyno readings and street driving to properly validate and tune a car properly. That said, good tuners are hard to find . Down in Florida, ItalianJoe knows his stuff, so there are folks can and do good work, and Blazin has worked out what he needs to do and is satisfied with it.

But he dont have no stinking numbahs!!

I think he's getting at the drop in MPG using corn which tends to actually add up for more daily driving scenarios than regular gas but I'm not sure about the comparison between race fuel and E.

to be able to run e and still barley have enough fuel your looking at around grand for a fuel system that is just enough to do the job (a bare bones system) then the fact that your going to use 30% more fuel on top of that

All depends on the timeframe you're looking at.
