Official Turbo LSJ thread!!!

The ID 1k's are made from the same core so latency should be neary identical.
The ID's are great, but not designed for our motor. 5* spray cone, so a large part of the fuel hits the divider.
The bnib ev14's from fic are a 25* spray cone.
If you need any help with scaling just let me know.
Only about 5 people here (that I know of) actually know how to scale properly.

Drastically different? I did a compression test the right way. Electrically disconnected the coils, disabled fuel pump, took out each spark plug one by one and cranked the engine. The readings are the 2nd and 5th puffs or readings I saw on the compression gauge on each cylinder. According to gm the 2nd and 5th puff should be within 50% of one another.

Then the leak down test showed about 5% on each cylinder which is fantastic. The compression test will give you 2 different readings on the 2nd and 5th compression stroke of each cylinder. Besides a leak down test is a more accurate test because it shows the cylinders and valves ability to hold pressure, showing that my rings and valves are sealing properly.

Got ya. Yea I'm glad she's healthy too. Almost 94k on it and I want to turbo swap her. I'm still wishing I could get confirmation on a turbo lsj kit from Zzp going on sale for Black Friday. I can make it happen just want to know I can get the exact parts I want and get a deal.
#6958
example: why would anyone pay $3000 for a used kit when on black friday you can buy a brand new kit for $2800-3500...
#6960
i like best pricing always
I mean you could make a million dollars by having sex with:
1 fugly chick for a million dollars (average modern business) greed leads you here
or
100,000 average chicks for $10 (smart business) passion leads you here

I dunno, to me a big sale on something like the turbo kit is kind of smart by a vender that can pull it off. I mean they could be "testing the waters" if you will and have overstock. Plus they have to compete with those selling at a used price. I'm no business major though haha just my own opinion.

black friday sales only hurt vendors when they are digging into their margins. X for shipping if not payed by the customer. WD sales price, what they pay for it, Fab time if needed, WD shipping costs.
a part costs a vendor 50 bucks. they sell it for 83. you at, 60% margin. not included shipping or other little things. drop it to 70 for a BF sale. you just lost a good chunk of the margin that could potentially lose money when all the little things in the background are paid for. shipping, employee wage, blah blah blah.
you would have to sell at least double your normal margin to make up for the loss, triple to make it ahead of a normal days sales.

Thank you for the specifics. That's what I was after.
Area, I understand that entirely. The sale is designed to draw more business, it hurts the company when the business that is drawn is very little. A company that is more broad and can offer more items to a bigger crowd can successfully lower their prices because they are not dependent on a single group which may already have everything being offered on sale. It's kind of a catch 22 with great potential in loss and gain.

all turbo timers are pretty much the same, and yes they are worth it because it extends the life of your turbo by allowing your car to idle.
If you are dedicated to your car and dont want to waste money on a timer, then you just allow your car to run for the 30secs to a minute before shutting it off.

Or if you make damn sure that if you enter boost you don't shut the car off right afterwords. The turbo timer is essentially used to cool the turbos cooling system correct?
#6975
It's main purpose is to equalize the temp across the chra and cool it down to the point of eliminating oil coking in the journals.
If you've been beating on the car, let it cool down for a couple min. If you're impatient, or want the show of a timer, then get one.
