rd fabs stainless manifold or the ttr manifold for the ion? i know the rd fabs one will have heat issues but i planned on a phenolic spacer to help it out a little

Save your money. The Saab IM may not be pretty, but it's the best bang for the buck manifold available by far.

Well... Zip made 900 on it. Theoretically a larger plenum and shorter velocity stack runners (like mine) will perform better at high rpm.
I have to redesign the plenum on mine. Wasnt enough clearance. So I'm running a modified Saab IM I picked up on eBay for $99 till my custom one is done.

According to general "turbo theory"
It's the best manifold available for someone who wants very strong low end grunt and midrange without completely tanking up top. I.E. 85% or more of lsj-t owners.
For top end, a large(er) plenum and short velocity stacked runners will help keep the g/cyl high up top, but due to increased volume will hurt spool slightly, and the short runners don't load the cylinders as well at low speeds.
Theoretically zzp would have made more power with a large plenum log style manifold. But that's theory.
So the perfect manifold is impossible. But for most people, the Saab will do very well.

Just because of heat transfer. If you're worried about it, just wrap it.

Im not worried about it, my IATs are low low and I run the RD Fabs manifold, I understand heat transfer, but anything metal will heat transfer which is all intake manifolds including saab, ttr, rd fabs, etc.

Yes. Stainless just transfers a little faster than aluminum.

I have a phenolic spacer on it as well so the log style of RD Fabs works way better for me than the saab would. To me the saab isnt as clean of a setup as the RD Fabs , wish I could use a Magnus style manifold that the evos and DSMs get.
