unless your at the knock limit adding advance will always decrease EGT, let me see if I can find my source

Point is, you benefit from running as much timing as you can run without detonation. This isn't a recent discovery

not sure where that came from. But my point is that the cooled EGTs of ethanol allow leaner lambda ratios to be run and knock iat points to be higher, not that the lower combustion temp allows you to run more timing. which is what you initially had said

Lol, small hole saw and just tell the guy buying it that it's for an O2 bung?

not wrong, all metal intakes touching a metal head will heat transfer period . e85 isnt going to change the operating temperature of your engine, if it operates at 180* the head will still see temps similar and will transfer those to your intake manifold.
your searing heat issues I would blame on tuner, and your car warned you prior to it leaning out in a split second and then dead motor, you had other issues. I have pushed my EGTs up over 1600* to decrease spool time (and that is a bone stock LSJ) and when I got the spool I wanted I left it there. 1300-1600* in the mid range run after run after run, daily drove it for more than 6 months that way
I know you arent making me run this fuel, hence I havent bashed any of you guys that are running it, I just simply explain my opinion on the matter and what I would do if I did decide to run any form of alcohol based fuel. I respect all of you guys that make big power on it, I just ask for the same respect for me running pump gas.
keep over complicating things, I enjoy reading and learning exactly how something works instead of "um , I pour it in my car and , um , it goes faster and , um , yea" Learning what works and doesnt work helps to further what we are all doing and keeps us from wasting money on parts that break or directions that are unnecessary.
I leaned out once on gas, melted valves instantly, rebuilt my block, leaned out again and popped my cylinder.
Leaned out on E85, after my third engine build, pull after pull and never had the searing heat issues I did with gas. Its just safer if you plan on tinkering and testing.

We aren't making anyone run this fuel, just have an open mind about it. I spend too much time on cruise night pleading my case convincing the older local car guys about it because they say "that **** will dry out your engine, yep your just ruining your motor". Now I just drive by and smile and pat my car on the door when I see them. 4+ years on E85 and 3+ years on a small pulley TVS not being easy on her.
On another Black Friday related note, I made some purchases from ZZP for my Red car F40 6-speed setup and s259et will be on its way! Snagged an oversized radiator as well.

What gear are you in at 150mph? My 4th gear at 7200rpm shows 152mph on the dyno

yep who told ya?
Ive been working on rebuild.
I have:
Diamond Pistons (stock compression, coated)
Pauter x-beam rods
knife edged and coated crankshaft (waiting to get crank key extended)
160lb/hr injectors
still need:
block to get sleeved by mr. b
head to go to M2
order cams springs and valves
then its just reassemble tune and run
