When I had my boost issues, it would go past 17 normally.
Now, it just looks like my wastegate is opening at 15.
It caused me to over boost after I rebuilt my turbo last weekend, map and maf maxed if I did a pull.
So my tuner suggested I connect my stock gauge by its side. Comparing the two, they both follow each other thru boost/vac until about 15.
The glow shift is mechanical. Possible the hose is slightly kinked somewhere?

The vac t fitting it came with had a little brass fitting with a small hole in the top(to gauge). Is it better to run a normal t fitting

i managed to finally in the topic on it.
Supposedly this small piece helps reduce noise to the boost gauge.

My current system is:
-intake manifold vac, t off to wastegate, stright hose to another t for boost gauge, final hose stright to BOV.
Im going to try moving the boost refenence for the gauge before the wastegate

Yes. That little restrictor pull helps keep the gauge movements smooth. In 2nd gear my car builds boost faster than the gauge can move

But heres a quick video.
What do you guys think I'm making for power?

Remflex gaskets are great.

I don't know if I should run more boost! I'm only at 18 in the video.
Don't wanna blow it upppp, still runs good compression. 120k miles tho.
I can't really gauge what a safe number is. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't call that necessarily a cheapo if it's made with garret parts. At 18 I would ballpark you at 340.

Ya it was an ebay looking turbo I got in a used kit on here.
When i blew the oil seal I decided to use a garrett kit to rebuild.
I was thinking that range too! Do you know what you're running for power?

I have been thinking about running more boost but idk how safe it would be

Realistically I would guess around 375. Give or take maybe 15 or so. Just a rough guess.
Another member on here made 339 on 19psi with pump gas and the smaller ar version of my turbo; don't know anything about the tune but would guess fairly conservitave. I'm running 20.5-21 and a pretty good amount of timing thanks to the corn. And this sob hits hard lol. Love it.

What are compressor and turbine #s of yours?

Glow shift works now! Pulled it out of pod, looked at it, put it back in. Now boosts fine past 15 ?
