Correct.

My opinion for your setup is to keep the timing soft in the midrange and stay under the high 20's for boost. Around 25-27 max.

thanks sounds good. we are going to try 25 and see how she likes it. my tuner says we could be around 360whp by then.
I hope it doesnt break

Theres no reason it would break anything at that power level, so you should be good.

Even transmission components? At least it takes a little longer to spool so there's no huge torque kick until about 4k.
If you guys think that amount of power is safe, I'm happy

99% or transmission failure comes from a combination of excessive tq spiking and poor driving. Treat it well and it will return the favor.

that is what ive heard. i dont race the car, beat on it. just daily driving mostly. occational quick pull. i recently changed the trans fluid too. its got the g85 package. GM dealership had some ion redline fluid in stock for the lsd trans. pretty neat to find some of that stuff.

With a good tire you shouldn't have traction issues in 3rd until well above 500whp. With a marginal street tire I could see 3rd spinning a bit at above 400whp. Take it easy in the rain lol you won't have any traction anyways.

yeah, I think the tranny is the main reason why I'm thinking about keeping the turbo I have. At least until I can muster up the cash for a six speed conversion. I wouldn't mind the 4.45 ratio, but I hear for daily driving the six gear set up is more ideal. Would love some more input though as it's still a thought and not a plan.

I've driven the 4.45 quite a few times and I have the F40 6 speed. Both make the car seem way more responsive than the 4.05. If you can snag a 4.45 for a good price then its a nice route. The F40 is awesome as well and gives the car a whole different feel, but it comes for a cost. The strength is there, but no LSD. That doesn't bother me since I don't road course the car, but some people need it.

I don't think I'm road coursing or auto-x either. My main thing is a streetable monster. And the lsd is not an issue for me since I've never owned it I know mongorat has or comes across the 4.45 gears often, but they're starting to get hard to find.

im running 225 45 performance goodyears righ now, i thought they would help with 2nd gear traction compared to the stock 215. nopeee

I can hook 2nd on a decent day on about 19-20 lbs which is well into the mid 400's range. But I have 245/40/17 R888's which are an R compound. Hooks 3rd on 27 lbs which is over 550whp, but again they are sticky tires. My old NT555's 235/45 would hook 2nd on a warm day on my 375whp TVS setup, but they weren't enough tire for the new setup. Even when the R compounds are spinning they still pull forward really hard.

Lucky bastard lol I hate where I live. Over half our year is not up to my standards of "nice weather". I'll see how much longer I can take it before moving south.

warm = 90-107* weather half the year. The other half ranges between 75-88* with about an equal amount of humidity.

not too mention, depending on how much it rained before the summer, a hydro shield is necessary just to keep the mosquitos from getting sucked into the motor
