If you want to make power past 8k you gotta spend serious cash on reworking head ports and valves, and make sure the guy knows what he's doing.
you don't need to break the bank to do it but the stock lash adj will need to go on vacation

Hey guys been long time member of the forum and love it, although im not on hear all the time and i don't post a bunch i try to stay involved. Anyways im going turbo on the LSJ and i have purchased a Saab intake manifold for next to nothing off Ebay and im going to modify it for the lsj turbo I'm wondering if you guy that have ZZP's intake manifold could send me some good pics of how they mod it i no they drill the holes out to m8 and add a vacuum port and drill and tap for one of the sensors. I'm just wanting to see if i can get some pics so i can perform these mods, i have already contacted ZZP about doing it and they didn't really want anything to do with it i asked them very nicely if they would mod it for me i was going to send it in all clean and ready to go and pay for the mods to be done but they didn't act like they really wanted to do it so i will do it no big deal. Thanks Richie

You need to put the LSJ map sensor on there, which entails drilling the mounting bolt hole and the sensor port the correct size for the o-ring to seal on. If you have an LSJ sensor already that should be easy enough to lay out. You will need to block off the Saab MAP position. The vaccuum ports are up to what you need of them, there are about 4 ports stock on the Saab mani, so you can add more as needed. The mounting holes to M8 for an LSJ head is self explanatory.

Thanks Joe after looking at the pics of the intake on zzps website and looking at my intake with my brother we can defiantly mod this baby im going to get a freeze plug for the Saab sensor and then tig weld a piece of aluminum on the Saab intake and drill the hole for the sensor and drill and tap a hole for the bolt that holds the sensor on. Also im assuming the gasket i need for the TB to the intake is a Saab intake. also as far as the belt on the lsj im just going to weld the clutch on my alternator and prob run a 2.2 tensioner.

What's up all. So I've doing a lot of thinking and research on going turbo swap. And I just had a few questions. Still researching more but hope some of you guys may be able to help me out. I'm going to be piecing together a kit.

Was thinking of using the new ko4ftw that's being discussed but was unsure if it would still be too small and spool to fast on the lsj. My goals aren't huge, going to shoot for around 300ish whp.

My current parts list thoughts are lnf manifold, with water pipe and tstat housing, lnf intercooler, lnf upper pipe with zzp upgraded couplers, stock lnf air box(if it all bolts up), zzp lnf downpipe or stock lnf downpipe and o2 housing, and a custom cold side pipe with Saab intake. Would be setup for blow through but still use the stock bpv. This sound ok, or should I just save more and go for a 252 or 256. I just don't want to spoil to fast and have surge. And really 300 is probably all I would really want, maybe 350 max.

Also you guys think the gmpp clutch could hold this, or should I be looking for something tougher?

Thanks in advance and flame suit on.

The gmpp is perfectly fine. Spool can be downright nasty with a k04 lsj, so smart driving is required.
As far as the k04ftw goes, I'm not completely sold yet. Very interested in the results though.

Those with ZZP s256 kits... Does your compressor housing outlet have an extension welded on it?

Would you be able to remote tune me for the ko4ftw swap? Pending some actual results on it. Pm me if necessary. Thanks.

Broke an axle last night. Just happens to be the one for drivers side for the F40 swap that is custom from ZZP, and not the other side that uses a stock one that I have spares of Dumb thing is that it was all caused by a tear in the boot that let the grease escape and let the joints dry up, didn't break it from making too much power or being too low or something at least cool It started making noise so I inspected it and found the tear. Took it for a drive after that and made it about 5 miles.

Well you can't say FOR SURE the dry joint was the cause, it was likely a combination of torque and lack of grease. Is it pretty easy to change axles on both sides? I've yet to need them but everything else has been pretty easy to work on.

I have 4,000 miles on everything, but I don't know when the rip in the boot showed up. I know that it had started making some noise when turning sharp left, but my car/suspension makes all sorts of noise lol so I chalked it up to that. If its all I break this year I won't complain one bit

That's not bad at all, considering some guys going through axles monthly it seems.

What's your power level at yet btw? Any updates with the tune?

I'm always playing with the tune, although I haven't touched it too much lately. 27 lbs as it sits, haven't had it over 28. Should be in the 560-570whp range right now, but not 100% sure

LNF airbox on lsj
Hey all just wondering what all parts I would need to put the lnf air box into the lsj bay. Starting my parts collection phase for a turbo swap, probably ko4 or modded ko4. I know it's not the best turbo, but I figure if I shop smart, I may even be able to come out ahead after selling all the sc parts.

Let me know if you guys have any input.
