Hey guys, anyone in the Jackson, Michigan area interested in having a track day? I'd like to join a car club , but most of the "tuner clubs" in this area have way too much attitude for my taste. I don't care what kind of car a person drives or how much hp a car puts down, we all have budgets and do the best we can, I just like to have fun going fast. I love all cars. Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as a local car club or some good people to hit the track with?

Moving from Michigan to Ohio. Divorce. Anyway Michigan has no emissions testing while Ohio does. I have a catless ZZP LSJ turbo swap tuned on E85. How screwed am I? I was told welding in high flow cats would cost me quite a bit of power. Any ideas guys. Incidentally , I have a ZZP 3 inch catback with resonator delete too.

You should pass the sniffer on E if they do it. If they just check codes you should be fine. Some places i know visually inspect for a cat but i dont have one and they cant see under my car lol.

If it's a sniffer and visual test, get a non-catalytic converter welded in. You'll be fine.

Talked to ZZP, that cats not even the issue. The stage 2 Turbo cams are a deal breaker. No way I'm passing the sniff test even with cats. I might qualify for a "alternative fuel" exemption since my car is tuned only for e85. That's what the echeck rep said. I have to go through inspection.

I believe certain areas do just like Indiana. 95% of the state is a free for all.

What's an emission?

I love living in michigan for this reason. My buddy just did a head/cam/IM swap on his ls2 cts-v, and was pissed/worried because he cracked the evap line tank side of the solenoid (just before it was time to fire up the car lol). I stood up from my chair, unplugged the solenoid, and sat back down. haha

You can do what they call a self check e check where you do it yourself you just run for codes basically its kind of a way to avoid a visual inspection. I dont know any counties that use the sniffer anymore here its all obdII. Also not all counties have it either so unless you already know your county does, you may or may not have to even pass one.
