The issue is that pump flow capacity drops as pressure increases, so you have to find a balance between the two.
Edit: I suppose I should know better than to assume ppl on the shortbuss can think with reason and common sense. I'll be sure to try and make my explanations black and white from now.
Oh course you can't just keep cranking up the pressure forever. **** will be flyin.
John I know you have common sense. Japeatr I don't know you yet, but you seem sharp.

And i think this discussion should be more brainstorm less argument.
I appreciate the comment on being pretty sharp. Im a Mechanical Engineer in the power sector for a large company.
John, John, and I have been around awhile when it comes to these cars. I would think this thread has some potential to unlock what many are trying to achieve.

I agree though. Letting it turn I to an argument wouldn't help any.

i can crank a 255 pump to take 100psi. a little known fact of VOLUME. you could have 3658723615836289532 psi of pressure, but **** for volume. guess what?!?! oh thats right, no fuel.
on my 380whp tune, i ran a modded 255 pump with a base pressure of 42 on the aeromotive regulator {return system} e85, id1k's. blah blah blah.
the 044 will outflow the doucehwerks.

Area and DarkmanX both made ~375whp 2 years ago, so I wouldnt say its the most, especially by far John, but it is very impressive, and he has a solid motor that will take the power easily and reliably. Elite_cyborg made near 360whp as well. I will find out in spring what I make after I throw the cams in, but I'm hoping for around the same. My trap speeds suggest I should be fairly close.
JapEatr, I know I am down an ATI and cams from your setup as my car sits now, but I have just a walbro 255 and ID1k's on an otherwise stock fuel system besides a fuel pump rewire and I have fuel up to 7600 rpms and the occasional 7800, even on the summer blend of E85. Like I said, I'm not flowing quite the air you are, but it gives you some idea.

single walbro 400 in the tank. surge tank set up with twin 044's on it. id1k injectors. -8/-10 feed, -6 return. never have a fuel issue again.

I agree it is nice having everyone getting involved, especially some of the people that have pioneered these setups on this platform. I have heard a few people say Area doesn't like to help people out, but that is not the case. If you approach him with an educated question or a grasp of what is going on he is very helpful. He helped me out when I first started running the Id1k's. If you just blindly ask him something that you don't know anything about and don't want to learn about, just want a handout, who would want to help?
