Ok just going to do the exhaust side. I just had to double check on that. One more question tho. I have a trifecta tune at the moment. Am i going to need a tune for this ported head? My plan is to install the head and then drive down to SMG to install the cams and dyno tune the car. From what i have read i shouldn't need a tune, but again i just want to double check with the experts.

You should tune any time you change the airflow characteristics of the system.

Y wouldn't u just install cams while installing head. Then drive to get dyno tuned. Ur pretty much already there. As long as u stay out of boost u should b ok to drive a bit to go get tuned. I would go same day not wait days or even weeks layer obviously

SMG is like 8 hours away from me lol. Trifecta wants 200 bucks to update my tune for the cams. I don't think it would be safe to drive all that way trying to stay out of boost.

You could drive out of boost, fuel trims are there for a reason and will do their job if you let them.
I'm not saying its a wonderful idea, but just cruising should not do any damage at all.

Trifecta says on the site that a ported head/cams is a major upgrade and its 200 for an update. I am hoping to install the head and then be good to drive down to SMG with the cams in the back seat. I haven't been able to find a shop with a dyno anywhere closer that has ever touched a cobalt.

Driving the car with a exhaust ported head only is fine, did it for a loooong time back in the day, however there is additional power to be had, since you can add more timing.cams in the other hand, I'm sure it'll be ok, but it's not optimal

Hai guys! Been a while. Been going through some stuff, but been enjoying my newfound freedom as well lol. Huge blizzard today so I figured I'd get back on here. Car will be on a dynojet at MAP for the boost for boobies event on May 4th, so we will see what it puts down...if the fuel pump doesnt die this year Also, ill have to get pics but my engine bay is gawgeous now. Pearl white with gold boat flake and red pearl in the clear. I like having a painter friend lol. Also, put my cooling system back to stock besides the dual pass friday, only took me 3 years to quit being lazy and do it. Iat2's of 185* at 140mph on a 55* day just werent cutting it.

What was your cooling system? and why go back to stock?

It was just dual pass with a cobra H/E. The hoses were kinking and it just didnt flow any fluid, so I said F it and left the dual pass in and took out the cobra.

Ya I got to check out Flatgods set up last summer. It's pretty crazy. We were supposed to have a pull but he bailed out last minute haha.

For him to get that killer chiller working the way it's supposed to it wasn't just bolt on and go.

No it wasn't. But the theory behind the KC is great. I want to set one up on a CryO2 kit. Ok maybe like 6 of them. I was actually working on a setup that got shelved for $$$ reasons. Ugh. I got tooo many half done projects.

it works, i have seen it drop the iat's like a rock. but not below ambient temps. had to run the a/c to keep the temps down.

Yeah and AC disables at wot... Hence why I toyed with the idea of running one off of a CryO2 kit.. Either that or build an intercooler tank around a Trans cooler and fill the lines with liquid co2 or n2.
