So this seems like a good thread to ask in as it has a lot of traffic. When doing the head and timing chain tensioner (possible ati super damper), do u guys recommend changing the water pump as well? And if so what is a good one to change it to

I have to retime anyways though don't I. New head ported with cams and springs/retainers. Does our stock one hold up fine or does it need to b upgraded? Has anyone done this with successful worthy results?

It's a separate chain, you do not have to even touch it doing s head swap. And I have never heard of any pump problems even on high hp/rpm builds.

This.

I wouldn't mess with the water pump unless there was actually something wrong with it.

on the 3.1 pulley and the stock dampener zzpstg2 cams I was seeing 17lbs at 6000 with the ati and a 2.9 I was seeing 20 at 6000 and around 24lbs at 7300 you may need to limit what it puts out or raise the pulley

Ya I haven't even put the ATI on yet. Just wanted to drive the car. So it's only gonna get worse before it get better. How I'm seeing way more psi than most with a ported head and catless is beyond me. I'm seeing shy of 30psi and I haven't even wound the car to redline yet...

I have it tapped into the vaccum off the intake manifold. It's odd because ever since I put my TVS on its always seemed to read high. Like last year the meth ate away at my cat and almost plugged it solid. Took it the cat out and it made no difference in psi which I found odd.

I know what you mean I would check the down pipe and see if the flex joint is coming apart other then that it may be the the different cam timing causing it tim at zzp made the comment about how fast it came on in my car

Fak I don't wanna pulley up but don't like seeing 30psi lol. Taylor is going to have a look at things when I go down there and then throw on my ATI. He has a 2.9" if I need to go up.

I just now gotta fix my idle issue. It seems to hunt a little and coming off decel back to idle the car will dip down to like 500 rpm. Sometimes recover and sometimes die. When it dies it's a bitch to get started again. Tune related?
