in my opinion anything smaller than a 2.9 on a TVS has limited gains and major longevity issues.

2.9, run it all day every day never have a care in the world. 2.6-2.7, be aware of what is going on, again a solid tune, monitoring equipment, and a little bit of "do no care" attitude and keep up on maintenance and as long as it has had a good life it will treat you right. My car got raced and raced and raced for 3 years on the 2.7 and 2.6 and never had one single issue, but when I am driving around town its usually grandma status, and it always gets warmed up properly. I take care of it well, but am not afraid to set down the purse when its time to play. Many runs to 140+ with God only knows how high IAT's, but I was confident in the car and the tune and was always making sure things were up to par with both. This was all on E85 too by the way.

For most, the 2.9 is plenty of fun. If no access to E85, I would probably not drop below a 2.9 or maybe a 2.8, but that is just my personal outlook.

^ I never race mine, oil is always changed on time, and I too drive it like a granny. I just want to make some power lol, I don't like to think I spent good money on a TVS to only make 300hp. I'm making 247wtrq and 298whp on this crappy tune, so yea I'm not happy

So why so butt hurt on the power you're making? You don't do anything with it anyways.

Because I want to race it in the future and it's not about racing it or not, it's the fact that spending 2k on a blower and not even making 300 is dissapointing as f*ck

Bone stock LSJ Long block with 127k
TVS - 2.9 Pulley
80s
CTI Mid length - catless - megan catback
3" custom CAI
Option B - Dual pass - Griffin H/E (IAT2 maxed on 6th pull at 135* F. Highest temp recorded today)
e85

Out of fuel... hp was still climbing past 7500... -_-

100% IDC by 7100 RPM
108% IDC by 7500 RPM

22-23 mid - 25 peak by redline
19 PSI by 6500 - 21 PSI by 7500
This particular LSJ took extremely well to leaner fueling. First 5-6 pulls were 11.7-12.0 dynoing 330whp/279 ft lbs.

And 12.7-13.0 using the same advance above =

Fak I wish we had E. I'm tired of 91 and meth. I may just ditch the meth injection all together and run 91.

To get power out of the TVS it takes octane, high rpms, and a good tuner. It has been said in this thread and a million others before. A lot of people tend to slap a small pulley on a TVS just like they would an m62 and when they don't make over 300hp they wonder what is wrong with their car. You said you are on a 2.6 and only making 298hp. Step up to a 2.8 or 2.9 and get that meth kit hooked up and running. I have never seen anyone on here get power out of a 2.6 pulley without some sort of high octane fuel. Most use E85. If you don't have access to E85 a fire hose nozzle and meth injection should do the trick.

Couple years back I tuned a similar setup

Tvs / 2.6
60s / 24gph 50/50 w/m and 91
Ported head / full bolt ons
Could only get 22* max on the top end

Made 334whp/295-299ft lbs

I am now a believer in e85.
