i think the mechanical is going to be the most accurate since its coming right out of the line. Its a direct source.
The electrical gauge which reads it from the ecu its a bit delayed and i would assume not as accurate and on point as the mechanical one. (hpt log would also constitute as an electrical gauge since its reading from the ecu as well)

I'm not arguing that it is necessary, I'm just saying someone might find value in having it. It's been answered that you don't NEED it, but some people might want it.
Say your mechanical gauge is reading slightly lower than usual and you are diagnosing a boost leak. if you had a second reading, you could rule out the possibility that the gauge is/isnt functioning properly. Obviously this would only be relevant at over ~22psi, but it could still potentially be helpful. I'm sure there are a few other obscure situations where it would be nice to have.
Its probably not worth spending the cash to upgrade from a 2.5 to a 3bar, but for someone like me who doesnt have a tmap yet, or someone who needs a replacement, it's not going to hurt. They are the same price.

Good deal. Ps, might as well inform this thread that my FID1000s are now at the shop so when my cars finally running and getting tuned it should be set on kill! Right now they are trying to diagnose possible issues with the can bus system, which i have never heard of and have no clue what it is, but i guess its probably all the **** under the dash.
