Aren't the pistons a weak point tho? Shouldn't I wait to put cams and such in when I do an engine build?

Our stock pistons are very good actually.

High cylinder temps, iat2 and knock kills them

Water meth or e85 keep them alive at high pressures

Really? Good to know! I've almost got everything I need for a mini build then. How much from ur guys experience will stock internals hold up to with water/meth?

I'm curious tho @ wut hp levels will things start failing? With me running cams and springs/retainers and NBS delete on top of the mp90 running 30ish lbs. When should I consider upgrading pistons rods or gettin a Girdled block?

Our stock rods have been proven to fail just north of 500whp by ZZPerformance

Our sleeves, pistons/rings are prone to cracking/breaking @ any PSI really. The greater the PSI, the less margin for error.

You can run a stock sleeve, piston/ring setup @ 30 psi safely... If it doesn't knock, IAT2 is where it needs to be, and EGTs are in check... it's unlikely you'll break something; unless one of those three occurs causing the other two to follow.

ultimately... if you are going to get forged pistons and rods... you should purchase a girdled block as well.

FYI... with cams and ported head... you won't be near 30 psi on a MP90.

Y do u say that? I'm debating if I wanna put cams in now or wait for Girdled block. I will b doin forged pistons rods valves and such. I will also b porting head when I do the build. Don't think I will b before tho. Unless Jr wants to hook a brotha up. Lol

im not gonna list off my mods again, but i am doing everything but the sleeves on this motor. I have a sleeved big bore block already that i will be working on when the car is finished. I was around 362whp when i lost number four, but my meth didnt kick on at the track. I had 82k worth of hard racing miles on my setup that was completely stock. had the meth kicked on id still be running the stock motor. I have since will be going up in compression and have some goodies already in my motor Well see how the stock sleeves will hold as i will be pushing them to their limits with the new setup
