running good just putting some break in miles on her right now.

One issue im running into is the idle. Before on stock cams at idle vacuum would be around 40kpa, with smooth commanded idle. Now with the cams vacuum is at around 70kpa, and the car is pulling timing down around the idle area and chasing its own tail. All signs would point to a vaccum leak, but ive checked every thing with carb cleaner while watching the stfts, and no avail. Hell i even did a smoke test at work and seen no signs of leaking. Some people have changed the scaler on the throttle body to 4000, to cure the issue but were trying to nail it the right way. I know with the cams and ported head it will drop some but we're still looking into it. Im thinking it may be the idc 1000 injectors that i had to use two orings to space out to keep the bottom oring from going through the injector bucket in the cylinder head. Been so bust at work though i really havent had the time to mess with her. Oh and gas mileage on E85 ******* sucks lol

I fought the head cams and id1000's idling high and crazy for months. Went through the same steps as you thinking there was a vac leak.
I ended up getting the injector data straight from paul yaw, which helped some, scalar set at 5500, and alot of playing with the over/underspeed tables. Ended up getting the best idle with it very aggressive on the underspeed and far less agressive on overspeed. Still idles 150ish rpm ober what it's commanded, even when using scanner override. I can set the override about anywhere and it will idle 100-150 higher.

I just said f it, set it at 700, and called it good. And i know of 2 other cars with heads and
Id1000's that acted almost exactly the same.

Yea we've even checked the hptuners site with no luck. Some guys were even drilling holes in the throttle plate on the v8s with cams and boost to get it to idle. Weird thing is the second I touch tye gas vacuum drops back to where it was on stock stuff and everything smooths out.

I can attest to this. Armcclure helped me smooth mine out, and although I am running a different displacement than him, the car acts the exact same on the ID1000's and ported head/zzp stg2 cams.

the ported head has nothing to do with the idle problem with cams and it idling in neg timing

i did the carb cleaner check i used brake parts cleaner but i found all my vaccum leaks when i pressurized the intake system with air @ 20psi and i found 4 leaks 1 was at the evap solenoid 2 was were the air intake was attached to the tb 3rd was the bypass actuator 4th was boostbypass solenoid

i fixed them it help alot but how i got the rest of the problems was fixed within the tune

john i did a smoke test, along with the carb check, so if i had a leak i would have found it by now.

also did her first compression test. Cyl 1#220 cyl 2#218 cyl 3#219 and cyl 4# 222. This is at 300 miles
that will rule out a timing issue although i checked that before i put everything back together, and uve got to be a dumb ass to not be able to time this motor
