As for the other trash talking, Kevin, you have to realize that when you are at the top, allot of people try to bring you down. They want your spot or don't want you to succeed.
It's all fair in competition. Just remember that you do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
We don't go bashing on other car brand forums, so reat at ease knowing that and ignore the ignorant bliss of a few others!

It's ALL different in person, you should know!
Yea, your right.

Well you could try going with the Saturn L-series final drive gear-set and get it down to a 4.45 finsihed ratio (well techncially just the drive gear- the driven is identical tooth count) That's what was done to the Grand Am Cup cars to try to keep the LSJ "on the band"

Interesting. Thanks for the info! We couldn't get an entire new set of gears? Then we could just replace all 5 gears with a setup like Rob said. Then again, that would probably be really hard to find.

Good idea as well, although 1st gear traction could be tough I think the better alternative is raising the shift point to 7K+ I'll find out soon and let you know!

Well AFAIK Saab offers only "top" gear (5th) options not 1st thru 4th on this gearbox. But if you could combine the lower final drive with with a higher rev limit, at least you'd be able to pull some in 4th instead of shifting right in the traps.
Wont help much with the silly 1-2 shift much some though

Here's what I get in Speedcalc (the blue line is stock, the redline a 4.45+ 7000 rev limit)
Gearbox:- FGP F35 ION Redline/Cobalt SC
Tyre:- Cobalt SS Tires Pirelli P6 P215/45WR-18
Final Drive: 4.05 Rev Limit: 6500 rpm
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Top Gear gives 26.883 MPH/1000 RPM and a top speed of 174.740 MPH at 6500 RPM

Engine speeds in top gear:-
30 MPH = 1116 RPM 40 MPH = 1488 RPM 50 MPH = 1860 RPM 60 MPH = 2232 RPM
70 MPH = 2604 RPM 80 MPH = 2976 RPM 90 MPH = 3348 RPM 100 MPH = 3720 RPM

Top Speed in 1 gear = 36.189 MPH
And changes into 2 gear at 3385 RPM dropping 3115 RPM
Top Speed in 2 gear = 69.499 MPH
And changes into 3 gear at 4358 RPM dropping 2142 RPM
Top Speed in 3 gear = 103.659 MPH
And changes into 4 gear at 4903 RPM dropping 1597 RPM
Top Speed in 4 gear = 137.436 MPH
And changes into 5 gear at 5112 RPM dropping 1388 RPM
Top Speed in 5 gear = 174.740 MPH

Those stock 215/45-18 tires IMO are too large of a diameter.

You couldn't find a company more devoted to the "long term" than INTENSE!

Plus knowledgable with SC applications!
I dyno'd at 231whp on a mustang dyno with just an injen CAI in January at Dyno Day At Evolution Motorsports in PA. It's posted up here somewhere

i dont doubt that you dynoed 230 on a mustang dyno, however im sure the guy that dynoed you calibrated it for dynojet measurments. Impossible you made 230 at mustang configuration buddy.

thats what I keep saying. these people that dyno at evolution are dynoing Crazy numbers.... some over 230 stock. As soon as I get my car back I am going to dyno at evolution and compare to my original dyno. I'll see why they are dynoing such big numbers. Then I will install stage 2 and do it again.

I dyno'd with just an Injen intake on a mustang dyno, and my numbers were 200whp and 177 ft.lbs. Most mustang dynos are heartbreakers for some people I'm afraid. I'd be willing to bet a stock SRT-4 on the same dyno would dyno around 200whp too, as I can definately keep up with them. Dynos shoudl only be used as a reference and tuning tool. Track times are what proves whether a car is fast or not.
