Option B bleeder question
Okay, I've read up, but it seems like there are different ideas to this. I installed the option b and dual pass endplate over the past weekend. Everything is going well, and it seems as though everything is working properly without any leaks.
My question is....I have the CX H/E, and removed the stock H/E. I am a bit confused as to how the bleeder goes from the H/E to the option b tank. Right now I've got the hose connected from the surge tank, and running to the "nipple" right below the fill cap on the H/E. I don't' have a bleeder or anything connected, and I'm thinking this is BAD, as I don't have any fluid going to the surge tank as I'm supposed to. And yes, I've triple checked my plumbing and it's all correct. I followed the GM instructions. I've had to fill up the surge tank a couple times, and it seems to be holding steady now....so at least I know the fluid is going from the surge tank to the endplate.
So question -- is this setup correct? Do I need a bleeder, if so -- how in the hell do I do this correctly? Any pics?
I may have missed a thread or two, if so -- don't shoot me. Some of the threads regarding this are a bit confusing.
Thanks for any help!

Yeah -- I've seen that post. I've also seen one where you drill holes in the filler cap as well. I'm hoping someone that has done this can fill me in on how they did it. I want to do it the proper way -- hopefully without having to drill anything into the h/e.

Bump -- anyone else with suggestions? I want to see how other people have done this. I still don't have any fluid going from my h/e to the surge tank, and this is after 100+ miles since the upgrade. As of right now, I'm looking at doing "sput"s suggestion (bleeder using the h/e's bottom drain plug). It's just scaring me that something isn't right since nothing is going to the surge tank from the h/e. I double checked my plumbing and it's exactly as GM wants it.

It sounds like you're hooked up to the over-flow on the heat exchanger, which will only be open if the system builds up enough pressure to open the cap. So, you're not going to see any fluid go to the option b tank hooked up that way unless you get teh system really hot.. and even then it's just going to push it out and then suck it back in when it cools.

That makes sense as well. With all the different posts and different ways people have done things, it's hard to figure out which one will work. I'm going to be changing this around tonight to follow sput's plan and see how that works.
