Pig Rich!! Any Help??
Hey guys, just curious to see if there are any solutions other than a custom tune to lean out the GM stage 1. Right now I am currently running a stage 1 with 3.15 pulley and you can tell she's overly rich; exhaust pops like hell under (mild) deacceleration and smokes quite a bit under hard acceleration (carbon reson constantly on tip). I know its common for these cars to run a little rich but my exhaust really sounds bad; representing a corsa I should be sounding a little better. What about some colder plugs...?? Any ideas..??

most likey the cat back exhaust you have. i would get the gmpp exhaust. i work at a chevy dealership and a guy has a stage 2 and aftermarket exhaust and it back fires. so i would get the gmpp exhaust that would fix the problem.

I spent a lot of money buying my Corsa sport cat-back exhaust, confident that it is one of the best exhaust systems out there so changing exhaust brands is not an option for me at this point nor the problem. The problem is rich exhaust gasses being re-ignited through compression. I already installed (tack welded) a CC insert into the exhaust right before the resonator to help (supposedly) suppress the excessive back fires and pops which def. helps but doesn't solve the problem. I know properly tuned software is the answer but unfortunately do not have that option either right now. I will be installing a 2.9 soon to see if that helps.
