A pillar pods
I want to put in a triple a pillar pod set up, but my wonderful car has the airbags there. is there a way to still do this? also do the pods come in the tan color like the stock pillar or does it have to be some other color?

Mr. Spock are you out here????
Okay people, think about it, is there a stock boost gauge in the pillar pod????
Yes.
Did GM design a missle to kill the driver while deploying a potentially life saving device????
No.
This is simple logic.

gm also had dashboards that were steal at one point in time as well. they also supercharged a 4 banger. so the real question is. would gm do that? possibly. would i kill someone? i think if that gauge came out of the holder, and ripped itself from the pod. you would be dead long before that gauge smacked you in the forehead

Straight from the service manual, so please read.
" Inflatable Restraint Roof Rail Modules"
The roof rail modules are located under the headliner extending from the front windshield pillar to the rear window pillar.

ok so i think its settles that pillar pods are ok seeing that if we do crash, we will die b4 anything in our car actually contributes damage. I was looking at CA and their pillar pod said that it wouldnt match perfectly, how close is it? or if i could get a black pillar pod and just a black replacement for the passenger side....

i just installed my triple pod pillar. the air bag is right behind the pillar, when you take it off you can see the bag sitting there. its supper easy. and i dont think it will affect it seeing as the triple pod pillar is held on by a little screw where as the stock is held on by a bolt. to answer the orgiinal question, cobalt addiction sells the 3 and 2 guage pillars, they sell them in black and for an extra 10.00 you can get the factory tan color. they are wicked!!!

I'm old school
Being someone that has the airbags and has seen them, I'll chime in here. Here is what it looks like:
It's difficult to see, but the bolt to the left of the rear view mirror is the mount for the front of the bag. The bag is the white material seen only at that bolt, and at the top before going behind the headliner. It is enclosed in a black plastic tube along the length of the pillar. It is, in fact, behind the A-pillar cover. So no more of that only in the headliner crap.
It deploys straight down, but in the process, it does in fact blow the A-pillar cover off. With a gauge pod there, it will destroy it, but it will deploy normally.
Now will it shot the gauges at your head? Probably not. But if the air bag is deployed, I think you probably have bigger concerns.
