I really wouldn't go above 7500 rpm either with stock balance shafts. As said earlier they spin twice the speed as the crankshaft and four times the speed of the cams. They have bearings as any other rotating component. The GM Stage 3 PCM manual also warns against increasing redline above 7k without an upgraded valvetrain and neutral balance shafts. A guy over on the redline forums went to 7800 and the bottom end went boom, he blamed it on the lack of neutral balance shafts.

maybe it was the lack of neutral balance shafts for his application, exactly how much power was he putting out. the redline limit is not hte only thing to be considered.

if the stock cams were able to make power beyond 7500RPM, I have no worries that the stage 2 cams will make power beyond what the stocker were capable of. it may not be exeactly 8K but it's definatly more then 7.2K

comparing stock cams to another means nothing, ur stock cams can make power, but removing and grinding your stock cam migth have better increases at certain points and cause loses in other spots, its all about the cam lobe profile, i for one am rooting that these cams add aa nice amount of tq, its something i feel our cars lack, hopefully my build gets me a lot more tq

I don't have stock cam's, I have stage 2 regrinds. my cams shifter the power band toward the top end, which is why I've been wanting to tune to a higher RPM redline

Sorry, could you clarify what your mods were at the time of that dyno sheet?
EDIT: NM, I now see that there are four dyno sheets there. Two baseline and two cams.

meth also boosts the level of the octane in the engine allowing for added timing and the elimination of knock.
personally id go to 7500-7600 rev limit, i bet youll make 275is, the meth sprayed throuhgout your tune would take you up to the 295 range, a 2.5 would push you into the 300's
