Please help with adjusting Ingalls TD

I just put on my new torque damper tonight and i cannot for the life of me understand how to correctly adjust it. I believe i have it set to 11mm and I'm still getting wheel hop. If i launch from a dead stop at 3500RPMs the tires will spin with no wheel hop at all until i start to pedal it or hit the rev limiter. And when i punch it at 15MPH it hops a bit too. I took a couple pic's and would just like to know if i adjusted everything right. And another thing is my tires are basically slicks so i was thinking maybe this is causing the wheel hop?

The only thing confusing me is that the directions say there should be no more than 6 threads showing. I'm counting about 8.

Could my tires be getting to much grip and causing the wheel hop?

your tires are the main issue, those look bald as hell. As for the TD, just try setting it as stiff as it will go. On the street there should be no wheel hop, on the track you will get a little bit.

Buy my TTR solid transmission and motor mounts, they'll help a ton.

*was just about to post a thread about this*

does anyone actually have theirs set to the 10mm stiffest settings? Is there a big difference?

As far as adjusting, read those directions a couple times, they threw me off also! haha....but yours definitely looks like you past the limits of it. If you got 8 threads showing, back it off! 6 threads should be right at 10mm, your damaging the unit running it that tight.

also, what size wrenches did you use?

I didn't feel mine even made a difference, so I sold it

The instructions show you how to adjust it though. Or you can find it online.

I didn't like the vibrations. I would consider this a track only modification. I still have the bracket installed but the dampener sits in my trunk.

It should have come with directions though.

^^ Not a bad Idea actually....when I put the solid engine mount in, I guess I could leave the brackets there for when I go to the track.

I don't think you can use the ingalls with a solid motor mount. Could be wrong though.

The instructions are on the ingalls eng site. And this is not a wheel hop eliminator. It will help minimize, but don't expect a miracle cure. You have to spend alot more then $150 to eliminate the hop entirely.

Trans mounts (front and rear rotated for starters), and decent tires.

You cant put solid engine mount and td on together, it wont fit. I had all 3 months (solid engine mount, stage 2 rotated mounts and td) TD and stage 2 rotated mounts were the set up i went with. Engine mount made way to many vibs..sold it within a few weeks

Nope, you cannot put an ingalls over the TTR mount. We didn't design the mount to meet this need. There is no point to have an Ingalls if you have a TTR Upper mount, the Ingalls would just "ride along" LOL
