Angry Pop goes the weasel ;(

Yea motor is apparently done for according to the local shop here. I am def getting a second opinion though giving the fact that the motor does still turn over. I had issues starting to arise with the head which I believe was a bad valve. Now the sound has gotten worse, and the car has power loss. Getting car back tot he house tomorrow, and am going to have a look at it. The shop did not break down my car, nor did a leak down test ;|... all they did was listen to the sound of the car.. so I dont know.. I think blown head but they say different?..

do a wet compression and leak down test..
also see how much air is coming out of the breather tube wen u start the car...it will run funny wen u take the hose off while the engine is running..if u get a ton of air rushing out the hose i would bet u cracked a piston or more

Years ago I had a shop tell me my motor was done.
Didn'te even break down the motor to look.
All that was really wrong, was my oil pump chain broke.
New Oil pump chain and it was good to go again.

Would be pretty sad if your motor took a dump on it with only 50000 miles. Are you constantly beating on it? My intake valves were shot at 39000 km but that's because of di and you don't have to worry about that.

LoL, dudes I am sorry I have not updated my sig, but now my car has 78,000 miles lmao so Rice be perpaired dude just saying Bahaha! , and ugh yeah I beat on it pretty hard man, and I am not mad it popped I had so much fun driving this car, and out running alot of cars I never would of imagined to be honest. I will get him fixed but will take some time, and it will be time used wisely. Really does suck tho lol because I am expecting a baby next year. I dont know gotta look around for either a replacement or maybe buy a new block fully assembled, not sure yet.. O and yeah I got the car back, and the rod is busted from the sounds of it, not 100% sure tho without breaking it down first..

mmm apparently? Im not 100% sure to be honest man. I dont even think its bent I think it is broke? atleast that was part of the info I was given from the shop. They started it up heard the loud clanking, and banging lol and shut the hood, and assume broken something lol so I assume broken rod?

Have someone experienced with Cobalts take a look at it, i'm sure you can find someone in Ohio. I highly doubt your motor is done especially when looking at your mod list.

YEa talked to my unc about that. Tryin to figure if you can replace the bearing easly from their.. I would imagine you could but I wonder if any slivers got loose...?

But then again this a loud clunk rather then repetative ticking sounds at the bottom end...
