Ill be sure to remember that when i go to florida at the beach (0 psi) and watch the palm trees blowing in the wind.

PSI is relative to the container.

An you just FAILED HUGE.

The air would not move through the system without a pressure drop. Simple physics, fluids what ever you want to call it.

Obviously the rest of the world has to prove you wrong and i dont have time to type it all out. its easier to see i am right all the time and give you the link.

You have yet to find anything ive said that is not correct at this thread.

actually if you read that article on intercoolers you so perfectly searched for and posted, you could read about that in there aswell. You need pressure drop for the system to work properly

You are skewing things majorly.

The ocean waves are also another form of a fluid moving yet they have to do with gravity. PSI can be any fluid, not just air.

Im not skewing anything. You said his statement was wrong, and it is not it is fully correct, for the application we are talking about

barometric pressure and psi are different.

It's a hard concept to grasp, but fluid and gasses actually behave in a similar fashion.
Hence why CFD (computational fluid dynamics) is used in wind tunnel simulation.

Holy fail!

I'm pretty sure psi is a measurement of pressure.

dude your a moron, read about pressure drop in a system, i dont care what system and you will see. Its all the same, just piping, intercooler. I dont care, you need a little bit of pressure drop for a system to work. You just dont know how to be wrong, except you have been all the time

Your comparing barometric pressure of the earth to PSI....

fail man... wow and you took an undergrad course?

im talking about psi per container

not psi per volume of air

wow on this thread

for things to flow you have to have a pressure difference.

It's the way the earth works. Doesn't air flow from high to low pressure automatically, just like hot flows to cold.

PV=nrt

maybe we are all morons

yes but it is out of scope of what i was referring to and what i was trying to avoid.

in other words

take a cup,

fill it half way with water,
fill other half with milk

notice the differences in density/pressure and how it moves to equalize?

That is NOT the same as shooting water through a hose and is completely off topic.

Holy Mary Mother of God.....

"...we have a high pressure system moving in....."
"...when that low pressure system meets the front from the high pressure system...."
"...high winds due to PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL....tornado...hurricane..."

BTW - florida is at 14.7psi absolute - just so you know....

it doesn't matter what the system is pressure drop is necessary and inevitable (screw spelling class)
