Just run what I have you'll make lots of usable power.... and make enough to hang with tuned SS/TC's.... I know because I have run one!
2.8
60's
meth
intake
header
3" downpipe
3" stainless exhaust with magnaflow muffler
ingalls
Custom ***** out tune
WORKS fer me! And has now for over a year with no issues
get me a great deal on a shorty header that mates to the ZZP downpipe!

supercharger+cold=power
don't go above 2.5 " needs restriction
I have seen cobalt with 3" that lost power because of the vaccum created
by too much of a free flow exhaust sytem
weight reduction ?? how else can you explain a civic below 14 at the drag strip
I am going to a 2.6 pulley this spring ---- torque torque and more torque

this thread has way to much garbage in it and its annoying.
If you don't get the LS1 mod then go with nitrous. It's pretty fun and is quite addicting. Spraying a 25-50shot every now and then when your bored is quite fun.
As far as all of the none sense in this thread you know not to listen to most of it but in case you forgot I will reiterate it.
Stay at a 2.8 inch pulley, don't drop below a 2.7inch.
If you plan on making decent power, which you already are STAY with a 3inch exhaust. You will not lose power with a 3inch exhaust, you will lose boost.
Boost does not equal power.
Weight reduction is nice, but not needed in a cobalt. We can run in the 12s without needing to take apart our dash and our back seats, we are not a civic!
Also as someone else already said a lot of it is in the tune! If you need help with that part you know I am more than happy to drive out there and put a tune on her so just let me know.
But overall I think we are both at the point where we look at each other and we say what now? If we don't go with stuff like cams, head work, springs, valves, retainers etc then we are basically left with 2 options. 1. nitrous, 2. figuring out a way to keep these cars cool lol.
Hope to hear from you soon chris, take care.
