Question about gains

I have an 06 cobalt ss s/c with the GMPP Exhaust. Next week I am getting my stage 2 kit put on and when I bring it home I am putting on an injen intake, NGK 1 step colder plugs, Ignalls ETD, and CA 2.79" pulley.

Does anybody know what kind of hp/tq numbers I can expect?

Also I cannot find any information telling me what kind of hp/tq to expect from 2.79" pulley vs. stage 2 pulley.

What mod should I do next I plan to get better clutch/Flywheel, lots of traction mods, and many cooling mods but what should I get first and what is more important?

ok. there is a formula for boost and pulley size. i will share it with u.

for every .1 (tenth of an inch) you go down, you get 1 psi.
1psi=4hp+6lb/ft
so, i think the stage 2 is 3.1 inches, we'll round the other 1 up to 2.8 for ease of calculation

thats 4 psi and roughly 20 hp+25 lb/ft as far as your other mods, i would get the clutch/flywheel, then AXLES. theres a good chance you will break one at the line with a new clutch.
maybe a heat exchanger, and tranaxle mounts.
*note that the mounts will cause u to hear a humming or vibration while driving (annoying, but it kills all wheel hop.)

then the ssc springs ($130) cheap 1 inch drop. good quality springs

You better get some 60lb injectors, that pulley is way too small for 42lbers

I am thinking of putting 60#s but I don't want to sacrifice drivability, this is my daily driver. On Cobalt Addiction it says that this pulley is safe to run on the stage 2 kit and actually says it will bring you to the correct AFR. Is this true or should I go with 60#s? I really don't want to void warranty (I know I am with CA pulley but it looks like the stage 2 and if anything happens I will put the stage 2 one back on)

Actually I have another question. I havent got my stage 2 on yet but once I do I am going to put the CA pulley on and they say that it will bold right up to the stage 2 hub so is this correct: all I have to do is loosten the tensioner and remove four bolts and replace with new pulley? Sorry if stupid question I am new with modding the car, although I have been on here everyday researching for about 2 months now.

putting on the intake with stage 2 is going to even out your AFR, then the pulley will just make it lean....

You could run 60#s on a stock pulley if you wanted to and drive it fine as long as the tune is scaled to do so

Changing pulleys is not the correct way to adjust your AFR

I would suggest a 2.9" pulley to be the smallest one should use with the Stage2 42 lb'ers. The 2.79" pulley may be ok as long as you dont go beyond 6500 rpm, but anyone who has stage 2 probably wouldn't be so quick to sacrifice their extra 500 revs

Regardless of which way you go we'd love to see some dyno #'s

If I get the 60# injectors then would the stage 2 tune be enough to habdle? If not what do you guys suggest.

Out where I live there are many many SRT-4's and Im tired of hearing all of them run there mouth about how bad ass there car is, don't get me wrong there fast but thats about it! (in my opinion its still a neon and interior and even exterior looks are inferior to the Cobalt SS S/C

if you get the 60#'s you will need to get a tune from probably a local shop around you! also if your gonna get the 60#'s i would get the 2.6 pulley cause you will see more power and maybe kill a couple srt's while ur at it!!

Well obviously before I put the smaller pulley on I need to do more research and prolly get 60# injectors and a new tune.

But with the GMPP exhaust, GM stage 2, injen intake, NGK 1 step colder plugs, and iganlls ETD what kind of hp/tq numbers can i expect, what 1/4 mile times, and how would I do against a stock SRT-4 (I know you cannot tell me about a modded one, and yes I can drive the car, believe me!)

One of my friends has a SRT-4 that has a bad boost leak and he said he has a new intercooler on order but has been running his mouth for about a month now and I don't want to run my mouth so I am just going to find him and race him but what outcome can I expect? He and I are both experienced drivers but I have heard that if there is any kind of problem with an SRT-4 it really does not perform at all but I guess this is true for all cars.

I actually called CA today and they said that the pulley runs great on 42#s. They said 60# is overkill if you are not running WOT most of the time. Normal driving with a race here and there or spirited driving not abusive driving will be fine with the 42#s.

If you go with that setup make sure you get a wideband. After you see what's really going on in your motor you may change your mind!

what a 50lb injector, everyone says get the 60's but on cobalt performance parts website they have 50's. would this be enough for a 2.8 or 2.7 pulley? I mean if you only need a lil more than why wouldn't this work?
