RAW 3" Intake VS AEM Intake
Intake thread.
So I've been talking to another user over on the USLSJA forums and I've decided to ask you guys something that I am unsure of.
As most of you know, the RAW intake is 3" in diameter. Right now, i have the AEM intake on my car. All the AEM intake is, is a lower pipe basically where the MAF is and a filter, nothing more..
Do you guys think upgrading from the AEM to the RAW would be worth it power-wise? Would the RAW sound louder? What, if any, would be some of the advantages of the RAW over the AEM? Thanks for your help guys.

IMO the only reason for an intake is the added whine from the supercharger and addition air flow from a high volume filters. Who make the pipe and filter is of no consequence.

Why?
I love mine.
It's loud, it's stainless, and it's pretty.
On the practical side of things.... as lsjwannabe mentioned it helps with MAF tuning.
As well, a few of us have noticed that it tends to smooth the fuel trims a bit (maybe it's just us though).
The final thing, if you plan to flow more air in the future, you will decrease the likelihood of reaching an absolute vacuum in the intake. Something that isn't so hot if your looking efficiency (something we lack).

As opposed to what? With the group buy almost at 30 people you can get it for $220. So you sell your AEM and pick one up if you want it bad enough. If you like your AEM and think its not worth the trouble swapping it out don't do it. I think for the price in the GB it's worth it.
