So this is all working on the assumption that the stock head flows significantly less than what the cams allow? Sure would be a decent oversight by quite a few engineers who designed it. Must be a heck of a valve job.
If only someone had the flow test results of the stock head with stock cams and higher lift cams.

i think its possible, as far as a 50whp gain thats a lil to much i think but who knows. i know on stock ls1's just doing an ls6 head swap is good for 20whp ported ls6's 30+ as well as afr's, add a medium sized 224 cam and ur looking at a 60+whp gain w/ ported ls6's or afr 205's. so theres a good possibility that the lsj sucks alot of ass that a good port work can yield to 30whp on stock cam's. what i'd like to see if there were any correction's made to the dyno before and after. cuz to me it looks like there were.

gotta admit, that' pretty damn impressive, especially considering that there have been many people over the years that have said that you can't gain a lot from a ported head, they said it was all in the intake manifold restriction.

Also in the stock dyno something pulled a lot of timing starting at what looks to be 5500rpm (cant tell cause no rpm on graph) Im not sure on its affect on peak but notice the dip at 5500rpm isnt there on their after graph. And being the tunes were supposed to be the same...
