As some of you may know, started a turbo swap about a month ago. I've had a few requests to start a build thread, so here it is. My turbo build isn't going to be insane as I've ran into some factors restricting me from giving it my all! While I am waiting for other parts, I decided to mess around with the interior as well.

I would like to make a shoutout to all those that have encouraged me to start this build and who have helped me with the entire process between picking parts out to some knowledge I gained. I also want to make a special shoutout to Mark (EXsoccer) for helping me the most and talking to me day after day about everything and making me 10 steps higher and knowledgeable about everything!

Meh its not a supercharged build... but I can dig it

 

Yeah I had to get away from the Supercharger. I love the instant power, but in the long run turbo is going to be the way I want to go! More $$, but better IMO.

Took them a little over 2 weeks cause it was build to order, but overall ir was a good experience with customer service.

Awesome. That's the same place I plan to order that same turbo from. Good to know they have good customer service. Also good to know the wait time. What exit did you go with? The 4 bolt or did you get an adaptor for vband?

 

It's the 4 bolt. And if you search online, you can find a 10% off coupon for that site. I saved like $75 by using it. Got the 5531 for the same price as the 5431.

I'm thinking of getting the PTE 5531e for my 2.4L LE5 car. Can you tell me if the turbo has oil only cooled or is it oil+water cooled?

There's very little info about it online, I'm pretty sure the turbo was only released last month.

 

Yeah it was just released on January 7th. It is oil cooled. I pm'd you a message.

 

When do you plan to be done by?

 

I have no idea man, hoping soon though!

 

I'm hoping within a month. I have most of the parts I need, I'm going to start installing the rest of the **** when I get a break from work on Tuesday and Wednesday and I'm going to change my clutch on Wednesday to my Exedy, so hopefully not too much longer!

Thanks man, I'm wrapping my pillars once I find more materials. I cannot find any! The pictures don't do any justice, they make it look like a gay light blue but it's not. It looks good I think.

 

newb question. whats the brass fitting that's seen on the top left side of the turbo for?
