SC silencer

All the old Roots type blowers i remember seeing have two large bolt heads with large springs under them that i was told were pressure relief valves. If the manifold pressure got too high they would pop open and relieve the pressure rather than perhaps destroying something.I don't remember seeing these on my SS/SC and wonder if these holes are for this purpose?Just a cheaper way to do it maybe? It just leaks all the time i guess?I would really like to know.Eaton would be the people to ask.

...cheesy, but I did on my Cobra and I had over 90,000 miles on it without any problems. It just made the supercharger ungodly loud. That is why I wanted to know if anybody else has done this on the Cobalt. Guess I will be the first.
I will take a lot of pictures and post up a threa once it is ready.

i know that it gets really loud. im going to do this very soon. i roommate did it on his supercoupe and it was crazy loud. he used an aluminum welder to do this. im going to make a plate to mount in front of it. F.Y.I. the two slits are the silencers

Well someone else will have to do and make a video. For those that didn't see my thread, I popped the motor last night, so the only cool sounds my car makes is sounding like a WRX.

I wouldn't weld them with an actuall welder. You could easily distort the casing and cause it to hit the rotors. JB Weld is probably about the safest method.

If the Cobras are doing it on the M112 and it is holding, I don't see why it wouldn't work on the M62. Might talk to some of them to see how exactly they are doing it to make sure you won't run into any problems.
