anybody else worried about 1 part missing, I dont feel our clutches will like this boost in performance too much
I would have liked to see a clutch upgrade even seperately

I hate to bring a bit of negativity into the post, and lord knows I hope it isn't true, but has anyone stopped to think that the reason we haven't had an official price release yet is because GM is gauging how much demand there will be for these upgrades? Think about it...We have part numbers but no price...did they forget to figure the cost when they put the packages together? I'm not sure how it works, but I know if I were making a product that I knew was going to sell fast, i would hype it a bit, just enough to get a ripple effect going, not release key things(like price), see how much demand developes, and if enough demand is there, up price to a grand or two, and make a bigger profit.
As I said, i hope this isn't the case, but let's make sure we evaluate all possible scenarios amist our collective anxiousness.

Pictures of styling cues and teasers = Hype

I don't think they will be bad at all---or that GM is trying to inflate prices because of perceived demand. They want in on this game and likely know that if they are not competitive--not many will buy.

That's probably where it will get real expensive.

just a question...
if you buy the parts (injectors, belt, etc.) can you install it yourself and have a tech reflash? would it still be warrantied? if so, what if you add like cai, exhaust, headers, etc. how does that effect the warranty??

I'm not saying for sure, but most likely, if you install the parts yourself the parts would be covered under warranty of defects. Such as an injector not working. The chances of labor being covered for anyone but a GM Tech install, nil. If any parts are found faulty from incorrect installation or abuse, coverage would be nil.

Gm really dropped the ball on the release of these kits! They should have gotten these kits to the dealers before Chrismas so Moms, dads, and girlfriends can buy them. Now there going to release them when everyone will be broke after the holidays.

I agree, they did drop the ball.
Seems like GM has been doing that for a few years. (along with the other domestic car makers)
0% financing, employee pricing, this crappy red tag event.....anyway...different issue.

They're doing the best they can. A lot of work went into these kits. They went above and beyond to make sure 1 and 2 will be 50 state emissions legal.
To do that they have to send these kits to a 3rd party tester. I've heard Stage 2 is just getting finished with its testing procedure shortly. Then they have to worry about manufacturing to handle demand, then pricing and marketing.
Wheels are moving, just gotta have patience.
I hear Stage 3 is gonna be crazy. Cliffnotes i've overheard: head, cams, pistons, tiny pulley, other things, and NOT emissions safe.
I'd trust dealers to install 1 and 2 no problem, but not the supposed 3. That wont be for newbies...

Now for my question:
In the thread on the redline forums, its said "11. he also said the factory head is limited on flow to 270 horse so porting will be needed, I already talked to the extrude a hone rep, also sms can cnc port the head...." So for a NoS Kit, wouldn't a great deal of headwork need to be done, as well as a possible piston swap? It doesn't seem to me like the engine can handle a shot of NoS.

I work at a Chey dealer in Murray Utah. I have talked to my parts people several times and they can't even get me hard numbers on the kits yet. I'm sure my numbers will be cheaper though being that I'm an employee lol. I'll surely holler when I hear anything
