so far. he is the only one who sells parts for the lsj that is playing it safe. the rest of them think it's a race to prove who has the bigger dick.

however, the block is good to well into the 400's {stock sleeves}. the sleeves show signs of failing around 500whp. the block itself is fine to however far you want to push it.

this has been proven several times by people on here. i can see him wanting to play it safe.

As Area said, you can make 450HP all day on the stock block with the stock sleeves. After that you have to upgrade the sleeves. If you have upgraded sleeves, you will have to think about O-Ringing the sleeves over 700HP and above 1100HP, you would have to stake the CC. The block casting istelf is very stout, but Jannetty , I think, is considering other factors that can compromise the bottom end.

Jannetty has hinted about the cooling system with is also a factor with regards to the integrity of the stock block. Area has hinted to this as well in the past, and is one of the reasons that you can have great AFR's and still frag your engine. The build books touches on modifying the cooling system to eliminate these issues.

His dyno graph that I saw had 440 hp but only 297 torque because of the very large turbo he runs.

297 torque is why his engine is living at 440 hp.

If he is now making 375 Torque Congrats, that is Awesome.

We also Can't possibly predict how strong any one block is, some have broken at less than steller power numbers well below 300, but again different combination.

We will continue to test, different combinations and will report the results as they become available.

The GT3071R is a Very Good fit even for the Stock block, the boost response is almost supercharger like, as soon as you tip in to the throttle you have boost and it climbs real fast.

Yet it can be smooth enough for your sister to drive.

I expect the GT2860RS to make more power and torque below 4000 RPM and who knows maybe a little less at 6500.

Ted.

When I am talking about power levels, I am talking about 92 octane fuel since that is what everyone will be running on for the most part.

All of my Testing and Dyno tuning has been done using this fuel, I want to build cars that you can drive them like you stole them and not worry about killing it.

All runs are made at full operating temps, hood closed, thermostat open, 187 degrees at the begining of every pull, all pulls are made in 4th gear, (HIGHEST LOAD) I monitor Knock activity and tune for 0-1 degree of knock retard.

I know how to make big power, and I know how to put a car on the edge without going over, but the reality is when you deliver something to a customer you no longer have any control over what and how they will operate the vehicle or where they buy they're fuel, infact they have no idea what they are buying except for what it says on the pump, could be 87 in a super pump, you never know.

This Kit will make a lot more power, that has already been proven, I am just not going to recommend any one run it on 92 octane pump fuel at those power levels without some sort of engine mods.

Now Drop some 100 octane Unleaded Race fuel in the Tank and we are talking a whole different ball game.

Not to start trouble, but, 2000 street miles is not much of a test, get back to me when you log 100 quarter mile full throttle passes at 400 hp and (Very important here) 400 lb Torque on 92 octane pump fuel and let me know how your block survives.

Nothing personal here.

Ted.

i never said it was bad. you're one of the few people willing to give the people something that can beat on and not worry about blowing up. IE the bigger dick syndrome

Thank You and Agreed!

LSJ at 360 HP on Pump fuel, Notice it is NOT #4 Cylinder, Zero Deto 12 degrees timing stable water temps 11.3 A/F Determined to be just a weak block.

Running Rebel turbo kit stage 2 321Hp daily driver

Runs great and gets good gas mileage. 28 to 30 round town and 35 on the freeway approx. The mpg gauge does not work correctly when you change the injectors you have to use actual real life figures. I have a stage 3 clutch and the launch is smooth because of the low end torque and then the turbo kicks end and all hell breaks loose at 4500RPMs. Going to run 1/4 mile next weekend all indications are that it will run in the mid 12's or so.
Very loud because running downpipe 3in cat and 3 in straight exhaust 5in tip no mufflers or resonators. Love the sound though.
Have on order the new throttle body and adapter for 44% more air from rebel also.

Jannetty Racing did the install of this on my car and i got it back friday. I couldn't be happier. The whole staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I opted to go with the garret 3071r because i plan to build the motor in the future. The install is extremely clean and everything runs beautifully. The car pulls hard and smooth through all the gears. Although i did go with the larger turbo, man does that thing build boost quickly.

Big Thanks to everyone at Jannetty racing. They did a phenomenal job on the install and everything came out exactly the way i had hoped. I'll have it at the track friday, hopefully with slicks!

well as jannety posted that one was determined as a weak block... maybe angelo got a "bad" one? or maybe AAS tuning or chevytech07 knows... but none of us do and will probably never find out... but none the less very sad for raven.

I think raven had something wrong with the intake manifold gasket. IRC the motor wasn't blown but he took the opportunity to go for the civic instead.

And to everyone wanting a price, I think Ted is just trying to stick to site rules. This thread is within the bounds right now; any pricing would change things.
