Stock pulley vs 2.9....
I have Gm Stage 2 as of right now. I am not gonna be able to get it tuned...so should i get a 2.9 pulley or stick with the 3 inch? Is there a big difference between the two?

.... the stage 2 pulley is 3.06. I have a nate's 2.9 and I only gained ~.5psi so I'm at 15lbs with it but it does "spool" alot faster with the lighter pulley. For the money it is deff worth it.

Sound? I wasn't able to notice a diff as far as the supercharger whine but I was surprised because it did slightly change my exhaust note. ...for the better but still not much of a diff.

you could port the sc. Both on the intake end and the lil triangle outel thing y on the bottom (im at work so no pics for example), but then you would need tuned for moving more air. You could fill the silencer holes on the bottom of the sc. But yeah basically pulley down and cai are all that is gonna make it louder.

The 2.9 pulley definately gets you to maximum boost a lot faster and it does make the supercharger a lot louder. It basically makes the car a lot torquier, but without a front mounted heat exchanger, 60 lb injectors and a tune it is useless. I am speaking form experience. When I put the 2.9 on on the stage 2 tune and ran LEAN LEAN LEAN!!!!

I'm also on the GM stage 2 tune and I have three pulley sizes: stage 2, stage 3 (2.99) and nates 2.90.
From what I've noticed, the smaller pulley you go, the more knock retard I see on my interceptor and more timing gets pulled. It's hard to tell whether the knock retard is greater than the gains seen by going to a smaller pulley for me, but on the other hand there's barely even a 1 psi of boost difference between them. So why push it, right?
So I guess in my opinion it's not entirely worth it to drop to the smallest pulley just to go "a little faster"
I do plan on getting the stage3 pcm in the near future so I've settled on leaving the stage 3 pulley on so that I dont have to pulley swap along with my pcm swaps for track days.

tell you what brandon. come over here and race me or Matt.
He has: Stage 2, 2.8, K&N intake, and short throw.
I have: Stage 2, 2.9, K&N intake, short throw, GMPP exhaust, tweaked tune w/ 1st gear boost limit.
then you will know what to do. pully down, or stay with what you have.
